lot of times I find myself enjoying articles at TL more than actual matches themselves.
Workload overwhelming. It is a good day to work

One part of this was terrible, the rest was amazing.

What was terrible - the fact that some games were not even discussed at all. ST vs oGs was particularly horrible.

Game Two: Zenio is good at ZvP, and the new map is very pretty

Game Three: Ace makes a kissy face while he plays, and that's not even the most awkward part of       this game.

Game Four: Huh, They Picked MC

Game Five: Is this a Code S finals?

Game Six: You really did get your Code S finals in my Team League!

I mean, seriously? Did none of you read the responses to a previous GSTL recap, where a particular writer copped a lot of flack for barely talking about the games at all?

Then we get this, where 5/6 of the games get literally no recap at all. Admittedly the games weren't that great, but at least RECAP them.

* * *

And as for what was amazing, well, pretty much everything else was. The analysis on sending out a protoss first, and the one on SlayerS_MMA were particularly good, I loved reading those. And the entire thing was just well written in general. But I just don't understand why absolutely no effort was expended to try and recap the ST vs. oGs games.

I don't care if they're the worst games of Sc2 you've ever seen, at least make the effort to tell the readers what happened in them.

Zerg, of course, have black blood – a substance whose composition I daren’t guess at.

That's a vicious lie spread by the Korean government in order to dehumanise the Zerg and facilitate the imposition of anti-Zerg measures.

Seriously it's just the kid-friendly version of StarCraft that GomTV needs to use if they want to be allowed to broadcast games at normal hours. Zerg blood is red, both in Brood War and StarCraft 2.
I bear this sig to commemorate the loss of the team icon that commemorated Oversky's 2008-2009 Proleague Round 1 performance.

I had a lot more, but it got edited down to keep things more readable and consistent. Sorry about that. It's funny because it was too much and now it's too little, it was part of moving to the new format.

I think your analysis of the tactics regarding the random player might be a bit off, random has definate "metagame" (sorry I know people hate the word but I think its used right here) advantages against protoss and zerg. Zerg are pretty much forced to gas/pool before hatch incase of coming against protoss putting them slightly behind in zvt and potentially zvz. Protoss are still susceptable to being 4 gated on certain maps (like taldarim) and just the fact your opponent might be protoss in the first place might hinder or delay the normal mass sentry openings usually used against terran and zerg. Seems like the worst that can happen for terran is your wall of can come under harrasment.

I don't think it's any suprise that all 4 players sent out to kill guineapig were terran who can reasonably safely open similarly against all 3 races (although you can probably discount MKP as he is primes Ace so would be sent last anyway).

just my thoughts on how it works for random players anyway would like to hear what others think.

I'll take the blame for this, there were recaps but I axed them because the games were so boring that only headers seemed worth mentioning. I only partially agree that the games should be talked about even if they're boring, I don't like reading articles that have clutter I'm going to breeze through but I can work with formatting instead to satisfy both sides.

Really disappointed how low rating every series was given, I'd advise people who haven't seen the GSTL to disregard terrible ratings and watch because the team league is awesome, just because they aren't perfect games doesn't make them pathetic

Generally our star ratings rate "high level play from both players" so even though they might be low the games can still be very entertaining. Its necessary because if we give games where both players make huge blunders high ratings people get mad.

Personally my favorite games are ones where 2 really mediocre players keep blowing the game over and over again. SC2 really needs a Horang2.

Thanks for the link to my article, I think I'll be doing more of the battle reports of the GSTL in the future.

I was going to suggest that you split up the recaps into multiple articles, but these GSTLs are over in 4 days and that doesn't really leave a lot of time for a writers to get a report out especially when the games happen at such an awkward time for most US ppl.

I started reading the part about BelShir and get really really confused. Then I was like oh he isn't being for real. Then I got even more confused. Then I think i laughed.
