oh come on, not again, there were so many "next JD's" in the past 2 years (Luxury, Calm, Effort anyone? even Zero was mentioned sometime..lol). As soon as someone wins over JD and has some short-term success, everyone goes like, "yeah that's the next JD", and soon after that, this "new Zerg King" disappears or is heading into a huge slump.

Anyway, great writeup!

Out of those next Jeadong names the only one I actually recognize as great is Effort.

Thank you guys for the nice write-ups it will help my liquibets for the early rounds of MSL/MST.

yeah, well one hopes right? I like Jaedong but he's not been playing that well lately so it's about time someone else takes over.

I guess the ZvZ revolution would have to wait another season
I was hoping if most of the games in the finals were play in late game and show how strong hive is !!
Progamers will try to reach that stage of the game more often

Really nice write-up guys, worth the wait IMO.

Particularly enjoyed l10f's ZvZ analysis.

Keep up the good work!

I think the writeup was good considering the relatively uninteresting finals. Thanks writer team!

i am pretty sure great's overlord movements were not blunders; i think that he does that to prevent overlords from crossing because it potentially delays his opponent's lings from reaching his base (if overlords cross his opponent knows where he is, if they don't his opponent doesn't and furthermore is more likely to guess wrong because if great was playing normally in that position he would have seen an overlord)
meanwhile his opponent's starting location (and even his opponent's build) are not necessary data points for great's decision making with his build until much later on.

ps: the hivetch zvz writing is amazing

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I believe Hydra's later scouting information protected great from a possible ling attack before his extra larva kicked in, whereas great was going to dictate the game regardless of what Hydra was doing, of course barring a 4pool.

EPIC!

Totally hyping (T)Firebathero vs (P)Jaehoon rematch. This is going to blow me off my socks.

One thing still haunt in my mind is that one day Kespa and some leagues could pay some money to blz to buy bw's copyright, and blz fully quit bw. If it has a little chance, maybe I will donate 20$ that saved for blz's new game.
