Even with the TSL going on, the TL staff are hard at work making sure the site runs smoothly from day to day. Since the last big TL update, a lot has happened - we hired some new staff, some staff left us and some of our site features got updated. We've also had two seasons of Liquibet pass us by so lets start there.
Liquibet - Season 17
rocketship finished wayyy out the front of the pack with 212 points, 11 points clear of second place (ChoboOv/kazmazel). However, he was only able to break into the top 10 for Proleague and OGN. Zaro was the most accurate Proleague better - with a whopping 72 points. While libertyterran took out the OGN trophy for this season (which carries the coveted mensrea no prize). omninmo and fAnTaCy tied for first in the MBCGame section. KiNPiN finished first in the now disbanded GOM leagues and ReDShiFT took out this years WCG first place.
(Belated) Congrats to everyone - especially rocketship who now gets to wear his trophy with pride around the forums. You can check out the full results for Season 17 below.

Liquibet - Season 18
Just recently we closed the 18th season of Liquibet. dl2agon narrowly edged out VanRyk by 2 points to take home the Liquibet trophy for this season. Forum veteran, IntoTheWow, managed to guess his way to the top of the Proleague Liquibet while MaGic~PhiL and Gann1 shared first place in the OGN section. Locu took out the MBC Section for this season, while DeathSpank and Ohjay tied for first in the TSL Liquibet.
Once again, congrats to dl2agon! He gets to wear this around the forums now - .

TSL Contests
Most of our TSL Contests have wrapped up! ray1234 won the PokerStrategy.com raffle so him an a friend will be traveling to Korea to check out the OSL finals live! (please blog about it!) We also had HuskyTheHusky take out the Commentary Contest with Diggity coming in second. Lastly, the Bracket Contest is well underway - big thanks to David Mudkips and Alpine for running that for us. They are providing weekly updates so head over there to see how your entry is doing.
TLPD Updates
PoP and p4NDemik have been hard at work improving TLPD. If you've used it recently you would have noticed some of the updates. If you haven't been as observant, this is the list of implemented features:
- differentiation between Offline Events and Special Events
- added the ability to select only Offline/Special/Standard Events in player profiles when displaying their last 10 games played
- added visual cues to differentiate between the different event types
- map stats now include games played in Offline/Special events
- added a leagues filter to player records
In addition to those updates, p4NDemik has finished adding a ton of games to the TLPD. These games are mostly from when SC was still in it's infancy so go have a look to see how dominant Boxer really was!
The TLPD team is always looking for ways to improve itself and to correct any mistakes there may be. As always, leave your suggestions and/or fixes in the TLPD feedback thread.
TSLD Update
Analogous to the TLPD, the TSLD is the database we're using to store all foreigner events. At the moment it's a little difficult to access, but you can get to it via the http://pstsl.teamliquid.net page. Soon we will integrate TSLD with TLPD so that this won't be an issue anymore. p4NDemik has been hard at work mass adding games to the TSLD (and TLPD for that matter) so go on over and check it out!
We've also started a TSLD feedback thread which you can find here or lying about in the Website Feedback section of TL. Please leave any suggestions, bugs, wrong information etc there.
Liquipedia - Icons!
We recently gave out 4 puzzle piece icons to some of the biggest contributors to Liquipedia. They are:
- Pholon
- Mystlord
- Ver
- Imperator
These guys keep on making Liquipedia great and keep it up to date and organized. The entire Liquipedia team is working hard on some new features, but I can tell you some of their more immediate plans for the future:
- Integration of links from player profiles in TLPD to Liquipedia
- They are currently working on an auto-recognition for Liquipedia links in the TL forums (like TLPD)
I look forward in seeing what else comes out of their laboratory over the coming months!
Forum Stars
These people make the forums great. They contribute so much to out community and make it a better place for everyone. The TeamLiquid staff thank the following for their contributions in whatever their field is;
- Kau; long serving PX editor
- l10f; translator
- suffeli; photoshop magician
- Pholon; resident supercontributor
Writers Update
Long serving Battle Report specialist, Kwark, has been awarded a writers icon for his contributions. He along with DoctorHelvetica, Atrioc, Arrian, Pangshai and Heyoka are the proud owners of these icons. As alluded to, they are symbol of hard work and dedication to the writing team and we will be issuing them to people who regularly do coverage for TL.
Graphics Team Update
It's been awhile since anyone was added to the Graphics Team, but we recently just added three amazing artists to the team. First up we have denotate who has been doing an amazing job in the TSL Cheerfuls thread. Secondly we have zerocartin who is an amazing artist and can do some sick 3D Video stuff. And lastly, resident Photohop guru; suffeli! We welcome all three of them to the team and we look forward to what these guys are going to come up with over the coming months.
Streamers
People who relay the Progaming streams are so integral to our community. Only with their contributions has Progaming grown so big outside of Korea. With the advent livestream we have been blessed with a number of core streamers who have tirelessly streamed events week in and week out. Our gratitude to these guys is not expressed nearly enough; and a small step towards rectifying that problem is by awarding them forum stars. The following people are being awarded stars for their Progaming restreams;
- Mystlord
- Roffles
- Kentor
- T.O.P.
These guys even rearrange their sleeping schedules to stream events for us. They deserve our utmost appreciation. Thanks guys
Small VOD Thread
The Small VOD Thread is one of the greatest resources on TL. Many people take time out of their day to add games to this thread for all of us to enjoy. One person in particular has added an immense number of games to the thread and we wish to acknowledge their contributions. marcoso has added over 200 matches to this thread - that's over half the games that has been played since he joined TL! Pholon has also added a huge number of games to this thread, reaffirming his status as a supercontributor. marcoso receives a forum star for his efforts in the thread (Pholon already has one ).
New TeamLiquid Staff!!
The TL family keeps getting bigger Over the last few months we've staffed four amazing members of the community for various things, and one staff member got a promotion.
Aesop
As already mentioned in one of the Liquipedia updates, Aesop has taken charge of everything Liquipedia. He's leading the team well and making the wiki a better resource for all of us. He's actively seeking out big contributors to Liquipedia and is bringing them into the Liquipedia team where they can collectively work on new initiatives. Some of those have already been implemented, some will be implemented over the coming months. Nevertheless, Liquipedia is in good hands with this man!
Day[9]
TSL caster extraordinaire, Day[9] is one of the voices of the community. His show, Day[9] Daily, is a fun educational Starcraft resource for everyone to enjoy. It is a real honor to have a caster of this caliber on the TL Staff and we've already put him to work on the TSL. If you haven't already checked out his show, do so... right now!! (use the on demand section) It's a really cool show and I guarantee that you will learn something new about the game while listening.
pangshai
pangshai has been leading the Proleague coverage for TeamLiquid for the past two seasons. His primary responsibility within coverage was Battle Reports, but his ability to organize the writers into a collective unit impressed the staff a lot. As such, he's been brought on as a Staff Writer for the upcoming season and we look forward to the work of his that will be blazing across the front page.
Heyoka
Heyoka is TeamLiquid's official stats guy. He actually has a spreadsheet lying about with the last 104 TvZ's recorded with what build they used, how long the game lasted, what happened, who won etc. It's insane really. He really loves his stats, and thus we've brought him into the fold to help work on TLPD and collect statistics for our news team. The passion is strong with this one! So remember, the next time you read a stat off TL, it's Heyoka who collected it.
riptide
riptide has been promoted to the rank of admin. This is a rare honor only bestowed upon staff who have shown initiative, ability to lead a project and who consistently deliver high quality work. With this promotion, riptide will be taking on more responsibilities inside of staff and will be leading some of our undercover projects over the next few months.
