It's standard practice in 2p2 to have a last minute switch near deadline.
It's called Chinese Fire Drill, or CFD.

Or you could just not switch at the last second based on a case nobody has time to analyze.
You can always hit mafia by last minute switches, just like you can hit mafia by rng lynching. That doesn't mean it's an optimal strategy when you can just give yourself more time to analyze the case in question.
I don't agree with last minute switches and I don't think I ever will.

It's not random luck switching, but everyone started turning against him with like 30 minutes to go, and there was no way anyone would be able to analyze and respond to the case on him in that kind of timeframe.

the idea is that everyone has already established their read
you switch to someone ELSE that a majority of people want to lynch, not some random person

I just used the word quit to refrain from using another certain 3 letter word that might have shown up on any ctrl+f from hosts to not be confusing for them. There was no misunderstanding to begin with.
