He can become an already flipped player hero. So let's say I use promote N4 and I die, the guy I promoted can pick Viktor and invent shit N5.

If you are notified if they use it or not before the end of the day.
Throw it to someone you think is scum (who isn't terribly important) and isn't gonna be lynched. Force them to use the lantern. If they are scum you can't be killed so you don't feel so bad. If they are town, well you'll probably be hit then.
I'll be willing to carry the lantern, my defensive ability should allow me to tank some damage

Well, that's certainly not Viktor's ult, but evolution is a defining characteristic of Viktor, and power level-wise it's waaaaaay better than M_Z's shitty Nimbus Strike claim.

Yeah, I'm not notified. But this is exactly what my thought process has been - "how can I effectively scumhunt with it?"
Doing something like that would mean everyone would have to agree to taking the lantern if it's thrown to them. I don't mind taking some damage, I'm at full health. I'm just afraid of killing a townie with it.

You could always just throw it at geript and publicly claim that you threw it on him. And if you die and geript doesn't tomorrow night he would look bad. And if he throws it back he would look bad too.
Unfortnatly that plan wouldn't work on me since I can tank a ton of dmg

Well the whole point of it isn't to confirm yourself gtrsrs as town or anything. It is just to make sure you don't get nightkilled or make it so you are harder to get nightkilled, and if you do, throw some info up in the air.

At this point your lantern is pretty much useless. Just keep it secret and throw it to someone you think is likely town. That person can decide whether to take the risk on if they think mafia will shoot you, most likely they won't use the lantern but at least mafia cant be totally sure.
