I just had an Akali go 0-6-1. The game would have been highly in our favor if it had been a 4v4.
What I don't understand, is that so many firstpicks seem to have no clue about bans/picks.
What I usually do when I'm first:
-Decide whether I want solo top or mid.
-Ban something really gay that I'm not in the mood to pick (amu) or something that is too gay if they have firstpick (TF)
-The rest of my bans completely focus on creating a scenario where I a) get something that's hard to counterpick first or b) that will counterpick their firstpick for the lane I wanted in the first place.

Kinda curious how other people approach that in solo q. :>

I ban the fotm's, pick one if there's one left for the team, then rage when they fail at swapping/don't have the hero I want/think I'll play support.

I pretty much ban some combination of TF, GP, Annie, and Udyr every game.

I must say, you're pretty rude, most of the time if you end up with a team like taht you lose because they do whatever and flame all game long.

I ended up with jungle Amumu who I had never jungled with because the guy has the IQ of a rock.

one of the most annoying things about Annie is that sometimes you but down your W and she'll run into something on the way such as a creep or a hero and she'll just go "FINE I WON'T DO IT THEN".

duo ranking with a friend and trying to drag him out of elo hell is extremely frustrating:
I either lose a game as fed corki because the rest of my team is being stupid or win with an annie on our team who is 200 elo higher than us so I get 6 rating. the second I solo up I win 3 in a row including a game where I first pick akali and get counterpicked like crazy. net total for the day: -22 despite going 4-4.
Im sorry but I buy the argument that elo hell exists and Im pretty thankful Im not in it. It really, really sucks to play a good game and watch your teammates piss it away, and I see that happen with WAY higher frequency around 1200 than even 1300 because of the large number of new-to-ranked players.
on an unrelated / less qq note I bought Jax yesterday and played a game with him, pretty fun solo lane champ when you instagib the morde the second he walks into your lane from dying to you before.
