The list is long. But ever since head of Blizzard Classic spoke to the chinese players (Release of Patch 1.27a), there has been absolutly nothing happening. | ||

And yes, we have clients, great ones with w3arena and NetEase. But it would be best if Blizzard unified everybody under a single platform; even for them. One of the reasons behind WC3's greatness was the social aspect, how you could chat or have some banter in between games in the chat rooms. Not to mention custom games. The CG scene of WC3 is still quite alive, and it would thrive even more if more players had the possiblity of going back to BNet. Besides, the balance issues are real. Even a few tweaks here and there would make the game a lot more refreshing, and better yet, if they could bring an entirely new map pool it would basically give the scene a huge second wind. The point is, there's a lot they can do. And they even gave hints that they might do something, what with the whole talking with Chinese players thing. But it's been about a year now, and there's exactly no news. The scene is still thriving, in fact if anything it just seems to be constantly gaining traction. But it seems they have no intention of doing anything. | ||

The more a game isn't reliant on Blizzard, the better. They have shown in the past to meddle with scenes, trying to kill them to push their new games. The same could happen again with Warcraft 3 when a sequel releases. You can play on Bnet, especially if you want to play custom games. And w3arena has chat channels for example, so "banter" and whatnot can be had. The scene could do that (maps) if they really wanted to. But apparently there is no need for it, as simple as that. I know, I regularly watch Korean/Chinese tournaments. | ||
