So if K-pop wants to me sexy, fine. I think we all harbored a desire to some degree of watching these women let loose. But you're gonna have to also accept that a LOT of people came to K-pop because of it's cute nature as a welcome reprieve from the absolute CRAP modern pop music has become in Western Civ. And that group of people who did help spread K-pop to more people will probably fade away. To sum up, well you shouldn't think that all people view it as "OMG sexy is the devil!" or "These are women who can do whatever they want! Stripper poles for everyone!" There's more nuance there and I think we paint it too black and white. All the same I think the K-pop industry should take a longer view of this to ensure the long term success of their industry. Being the same as the rest of the world will get you lost in it mighty quick.

Kim Sori's latest doesn't top her previous MV in terms of sexiness. Female President is also better at it.

Because of the witch hunt that has been going on about some companies alledgedly "cheating" by using hacks to stream songs in order to make their ranking go up, Gaon modified the way the chart works. It was heavily based on streaming counts before, and now the main Gaon chart ("National single chart" or something along those lines) is more or less a copy of the download chart, which already existed before as a separated category. The new chart is obviously meaningless as it will not be able to determine whether a song keeps going strong for an extended period of time (which is the whole point of the charts' existence). Gaon chart's categories before the witchhunt : Gaon Chart National Digital Singles Ranking (heavily focused on streaming numbers although downloads had some impact on the ranking) Gaon Chart National Physical Albums Ranking Online Downloads For The Week (that category already existed lol) Online Chart - Streams After the witchhunt : Gaon Chart National Digital Singles Ranking (more or less the same as the downloads for the week) Gaon Chart National Physical Albums Ranking Online Downloads For The Week Top 10 songs sung at Karaoke Gaon Social Chart (wtf is that) I expect Instiz to follow the same trend since Gaon revamped their chart "to match the ministry of culture's suggestion". Fortunately melOn's top 10 system seems to remain unchanged so there will be at least that to know if a song is really doing well or not.

The dichotomy between Dual Life and this video is a perfect illustration between sexy (though even then I think it was slightly gratuitous) and crass. In Dual Life Sori is pulling off all sorts of sexy maneuvers to a rather catchy dance tune while Bikini is basically a rapid fire series of cleavage and crotch shots set to the scratchy sounds of whatever that was. Knowing how well Sori can actually dance (she has done ballet after all) it's a shame to throw that out the window for blanket titillation. Titillation I might add that doesn't even really work in today's age where we're bombarded with these sorts of images all over the place. So if K-pop wants to me sexy, fine. I haven't watched the MV yet but I'll always be okay with classy sexy.

Meanwhile, the rest of the kpop world continues to do their cute or sexy concepts exactly the same for the past decade or so.

Might not have always been raunchy as Sori, but her career has always been a bit + Show Spoiler [special.] + - One of the first few kpawp MVs I'd been presented. Sori pretty good introduction, imo.
