If you are watching the 2006 version, the first episode is weird as fuck (its showing a movie that the main cast made together), and the show doesn't actually start until episode 2.

You can watch Haruhi episodes in any order, really. Originally, it was aired in an order that was almost random. So yes, do expect confusions.

you shouldn't. the series was aired and is meant to be watched in non-chronological order

I watched it on a site but forget the link and now all the websites i find are bad.... if you are asking; then i'll assume you don't know how, or don't care how to use torrents, irc, etc to download episodes or series. if you ask me. netflix online streaming has a damn good selection of series and films. 10 bucks a month is little to ask for the reliability and quality (and legitimacy) of netflix. some of the shows i believe are worth watching: -ghost in a shell stand alone complex -deathnote -clannad -full metal alchemist brotherhood -samurai champlooo -angel beats -chobits -eden of the east -samurai 7 -full metal panic -initial d -last exile -trigun -canaan -blood+ animated films (not all on netflix): -paprika -ghost in a shell Don't listen to this guy. 1. All the shit in netflix are dubbed 2. Very limited selection in terms of anime Best way as most people have said is through torrent and irc. But if you are too lazy to go through that, crunchyroll is better as someone has mentioned before. Setting up torrents is simple, just install mutorrent or some other torrent program, then go to the fansubber's website, and they usually have a torrent link. You can find who subs what anime at http://myanimelist.net. The only problem with torrents is old stuff usually have dead torrents. This is where irc comes in handy. Most fansubbers have irc channel, and they usually have a list of what's available to download via xdcc(that is irc) somewhere in the website. Go to their irc channel, and request the episode from the bot that they have via their xdcc number. For more details, just search more about xdcc. What's so bad about dubs if you don't mind me asking? A lot of anime fans seem to be anti dub, I guess I'm too casual to be against it. I liked the dubs for both Elfen Lied and Spice and Wolf that were on Netflix. For most people I'm guessing dubs aren't too bad. IMO problem with dubs is that they are just so hit or miss. There are good ones out there. Then there are also dubs out there that rape your ears. Thus why it is almost always best to just go with the original language, rather than gamble on trying to get a good dub. I was wondering if anyone could help me understand the ending of NGE its been stuck in my head for the past few days now and I cant find a straight answer. Basically, + Show Spoiler + At the very end, on the beach, when Shinji chokes Asuka, she reaches up to hold his cheek, the first caring thing Asuka has ever done for shinji in the series. But then, at the end, the last words of the show are 'How disgusting', referring to shinji. My question is, Is the ending supposed to be tragic, as in Asuka winds up hating shinji, or is it supposed to be happy, since Asuka finally showed affection towards him by holding his cheek?
I mean, I understand that the overall ending is supposed to be happy, humanity having the chance to rebuild and all, shinji acceping reality etc. But in terms of asuka <-> shinji, does their relationship end at 'how disgusting', or is that the beginning?
Its been a while, and I'm no fan of Eva, but wasn't that last line Asuka said in Eva a slight mistranslation? Like, rather than "How disgusting", it was supposed to be "I feel sick" or something? IDK how the end of Evangelion was supposed to be happy with everyone turning into orange juice, but w/e. My standard answer for questions about Evangelion is "Nasu is a hack, he did it because trolling and/or it sounded cool", but I think in this case the answer is the subs had a mistranslation. But, I don't actually speak Japanese, so a moon-speaker like Ecael/Southlight can feel free to correct me.
Well, everyone can come back if they wanted to.
If it really is a mistranslation though thats one hell of a way to fuck up a message.

Has anyone by chance watch Guilty Crown? It's still in progress of its first season, but it sounds promising. It's directed by the director of Death Note and others, and written by the guys who made Code Geass. Haven't had time to watch it since I'm still on Darker Than Black season 2. Though I would like to get any reviews of it if possible.

I haven't watched anime in about 5 years, and that was just for 2 series (Death Note and Eureka Seven). Before that, I hadn't watched anime for about another 5 years. But now there's going to be a second season of Eureka Seven! I don't know if I'll watch it, but it's exciting news nonetheless :D.

If you didn't think R2 was so absurd, it was comical, then you might form a different opinion. Incidentally, Death Note, DtB, and CG are all examples of having a good first half and a trainwreck second half.

Though if they want to give her more attention though I certainly won't complain, simply too good. Still, I guess we do get some time to see how crafty she is so it won't hurt. Guess I'll go reread nise vol 2 tonight.

To clarify, it is EXACTLY because of the way you are thinking that this show is under so much fire. Too much expectation from viewers.
