If you have time I would suggest watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes, it's my fav anime of all time probably. Might be a bit hard to watch if you dont like the drawing style, aswell as you need to watch about 10 eps or so to get into the story etc.
How ever if Space Opera aint your thing there is always Last Exile (original not Silver wings) which I thought was really good. other: Trigun Outlaw Star King of Thorn (movie) Baccano and Ghost in the shell

(side note if anyone has something awesome that is similar to Legend of the Galactic Heroes PM I needs it! ) Might as well just post here rather than PMing you. The most similar anime I've watched to LoGH is Crest/Banner of the Stars. Its roughly 30 something episodes all together. Similar to LoGH, except with alien space elves. Still a space opera, lots of politics, ship battles, and stuff like that. I think LoGH is better (seeing as how LoGH is one of my favorite animes), but Crest/Banner are still really good watches. Beyond them, I remember there was another series more recently that was supposed to be like LoGH, but was incredibly disappointing or something. Tytania, I think its name is? Never watched, heard its a let down. Another show you might check out is Fang of the Sun: Dougram. Another one that I haven't watched (YET). However, whenever LoGH is brought up on /m/, with people asking for something similar, this is ALWAYS brought up. Apparently, its the LoGH of Mecha. The only person in this thread that I know who has seen this one is Kaal, and he said it was good, just not as good as LoGH. Honestly, it seems beyond stuff like this, you start getting into stuff like Gundam, which just isn't the same. At least in anime. Is LoGH worth the 100+ Episodes? Can you skip any of the episodes or is it better to watch all of the? 100 seems long, the longest series I've ever watched were only around 50.
Yes it definitly is, if you like space battles, politics, and anything related to Space Opera (the genre sounds cheese but it is really really good). You cant really skip any episodes (there arent any fillers iirc)

Could always start with Gaiden or Movie

I haven't seen anyone in this thread who was manly enough to start watching LoGH regret it. There are maybe 2-3 skippable episodes in it, which are more or less history episodes to teach you more about the universe. Everything else is mandatory.
If you are unsure if you would like LoGH, watch this: http://myanimelist.net/anime/3014/Legend_of_the_Galactic_Heroes:_My_Conquest_Is_the_Sea_of_Stars Its a movie set before the show happens, roughly an hour long, and will give you a taste of things to come. If you like it, LoGH is for you, if you don't, u got som shit taste.

Oh. And NOOOO ARISA WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!?!?! Anyway, I think Arisa is certain to NOT survive until the end of the series now. + Show Spoiler +dont even worry in the op you see he gets magic circuits and shit
gc + Show Spoiler +You are right. Not only that, in the OP there was a scene which Shu kneels and held his right arm... then Inori came and hugged him from behind. I guess that was the foreshadowing of this event. That's good, at least it shows that GC's scripts wasn't written out of the thin air on a week-by-week basis (of course not, since they were developing this for a very long time.... but episode 1-10 was so random that it's hard to not think this way).
From the preview, it seems that Gai will be working with the GHQ and Shu will barely survive with Inori. With Inori's power, I am sure she can take care of Shu. Beside, her alternative personality (aka Mana) will unconditionally love him anyway.
But I do wonder how Shu will get his power back. I swear, I think it has to do with Shu's Void (since every single other person's void in the show got revealed already). Since Gai's Void can draw out others' Void, I really, really do not see why Shu wouldn't have something like this. The only question is how would he get someone else to draw out his Void.

gc + Show Spoiler + Yahiro's such a douche. Hope he dies. Fucking made everything what it was the entire time, and now is saying Shoe is going too far? How the fuck is Arisa NOT dead? All that only fucking hit her arm? UGH Mana, learn to aim.
I wonder if Souta will sacrifice his life to save Shoe and die in the process, thus making Shoe go back to his old self. Probably not, since all this happened.
Arisa such a slut. She should've just died last week. Maybe Gai will kill her or something. That would make me feel better, that and half the students in that high school.

it's pretty definitive of the space opera genre, so the plot is paced slowly but significant stuff happens every episode

+ Show Spoiler [Fairy Tail 117] +Dude, Laxus is back YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Im so fucking stoked for next episode. I cant wait to see him kick ass, haha.
Also the Ultear backstory was very interesting, one of the few times I actually felt remorse for yet another "typical sob story" in Fairy Tail But this one was done really well, they let it develop for 100 episodes, jeeze. I love how everything just comes together so nicely, you think you got a good grip on things, then they introduce something else that you forgot about. gg no re.

So far i've finished guilty crown, code geass, amagami ss, full metal panic!, fate/stay night, fate/zero, and mirai nikki
I loved hem all, except FMP was sort of meh
Any suggestions of what to watch next?
How does one finish an anime that hasn't finished airing? On another note some recs from me would be Clannad, Angel Beats, Ga-rei zero, Steins Gate, Black Lagoon, Baccano, Berserk.. I could go on and on but that's just to name a few

What's the connection between full metal alchemist, full metal panic! and full metal alchemist: brotherhood? Are they different series with the same characters?

full metal panic is a whole different story and universe it has no connection to full metal alchemist.
full metal alchemist follows the mangas story to a certain point and then goes for an anime original ending. Full MEtal Alchemist Brotherhood follows the manga and sticks with the mangas ending and story.

I am tempted to check it out that Night Raid thing to see how much they butchered up my native language in that anime.

gc 17 + Show Spoiler +LOLep. I find Yahiro to be quite a troll character as he changes sides every ep. Arisa doing favors was no surprise though, you could see that a mile away from her 'weak' self esteem.
Hmm is Inori/Mana less evil now? She killed those students prior without any remorse and even hid the fact from everyone but let Arisa go with scratches.
Reviving characters makes the show silly. Now Japan is getting nuked by the UN decision, don't think this would do GC's ratings anygood.
