Something was definitely affecting the potential of the lineup at this tournament. They are definitely better than TSM (obvious and known) and probably TA if they're playing at peak ability. It seemed like no one was making calls, or calls weren't being followed. Plus Abed was simply not himself after the T1 series, Jerax never got going at his usual annoyance antics, Cr1t/Nightfall usually crush their lane and I don't think I saw them win it more than once . . . all capped off with rtz, who usually knows every game mechanic inside and out, missing that sprout leash opportunity. To me it felt like their mental state was fucked.

It's likely Jerax and Nightfall are contracted for the whole TI11 season and the org doesn't want to write off a large fraction of their contracts, so I don't expect a lineup change to be made from a corporate angle. But I also doubt the players are really ready to give up on this stack. I agree with what Lacoste said in his panel segment; if there isn't relationship damage, they will probably be dramatically better for DPC 3 and TI.

e: Ok, Bulba says on johnxfire/mlp stream that EG didn't scrim before this tournament. No wonder the results were a nightmare.

Even if they didn't scrim at all, they were still top 1 NA, the way they bombed out of the Major was really awful and honestly it shouldn't happen, not with the players and the organisation behind the team. The "no scrims" excuse is really flimsy in my opinion, perhaps there has been something else going on behind the scenes that affected them in a negative way.

I mostly agree except I think scrims are more relevant for a team that hasn't been together for a very long time. Especially given that 7.31c had just happened.

Anyway. Jerax interview on the synd/suns podcast tomorrow, should be interesting to see what is said on there.

It never really made sense to me that EG want to play around Bulba/RTZ's vision of the game while still not having RTZ also be the captain of the team. Feels like it would just lead to alot of unnecessary friction and confusion regarding the direction of the team in game and in general. Of course we can't really know the inner workings of a team, but from what I can gather RTZ doesn't really do most of the shot calling in game.

IIRC PPD and RTZ don't get along, so unless they finally kick Artour I doubt PPD is going to be back.
