This is downright disgusting from Gamefy. Bloody downright disgusting This TI just sums up the storyline for me : DK vs the world Bloody downright disgusting, I just can't even......
If DK win this even with all this bloody nonsense happening towards the team, I would be such a happy man.
How can anyone even...... its a freaking 5million tournament, and someone just leaked out their strats. If i was part of the DK organization, I would just storm a rampage at gamefy and bash them up.. Seriously. I would even call the police for all that matter.
Can't take it anymore on my fragile heart and the love for this DK team. Everything just doesn't seem to be going for them, instead against them for being the ''best'' in the world because of their star-studded lineup. Now i'm not sure about the other chinese team, but whoever it is... this is just downright dirty from gamefy
Please just..... boycott against gamefy valve, just stop them from entering any dota competition. Heck even any esports competition. Or even Live sports (football, tennis, etc, etc.)
*didn't believe i wrote that much but, im just utterly mad right now*

Man this is not going too well for DK but I still believed in their skill though this definitely affect their mentality but I am sure they find a way to win TI4.
|
Wtf I just woke up from a lunch nap to this. Why DK just can't catch a break. Disgusting by gamefy -.-

TI4: DK vs. The World crazy, but true. i guess this is what dotas coming to with all the money invested into the game. i am guessing eventually someday there will be centralized leagues to prevent these sort of things

When the team are supposed to sleep, rest well to prepare for phase 3 incoming in 7 hrs, they have to deal with this shit. Haiz I'm so mad :|
|
This is appalling. So angry. DK should be able to concentrate only on the game, not have to deal with this crap.

What is valve supposed to do? The damage has already been done and nothing they could do can change the situation. What a fucking horrible mess all around.

Saw the message from gamefy's boss linked on reddit. I'll summarize because it is way too long.
Starts off by saying he knows he's going to get flamed. There's this guy, "X" who has been part of gamefy for a year, in the news crew for half a year who is a dota2 superfan. He has previously done many news pieces that have been well received by the public. Despite this, he (the boss) still criticizes X a lot. X went to TI4 with another dota2 super fan for gamefy. The boss then goes on to say how creating new news content is difficult, needs new ideas to attract attention, especially with the competition with ImbaTV. The idea was to give fans the latest news from TI4, yet X made a mistake, woke up and cried a lot about it. X cries because his mess up causes DK problems, and less because he made a mistake in his work. The boss asks fans to see how much X regrets it. Also he says he knows that no apology can make up for their mistake, but apologizes on behalf of X and the rest of Gamefy. He hopes people will give X another chance, promising he will do better.
--- Last part about how gamefy actually does more dota2 content than league. (they were called "LOL fy")

That's fair, but there is nothing stopping teams/organizations from looking at the video and studying DK. It's not like valve can monitor their communications or anything so in that regard nothing can be done.
EDIT: I feel 0 sympathy for 'X' 's fuck up.

I think if teams and organization are looking at the video and studying DK openly will automatically be disqualified from the tournament. It is the most efficient method that valve can do to stamp that authority that no teams are allowed to cheat.
It is just plain dirty and shouldn't be used if esports is going to involve into real sports in the future. I mean this is just bad. (if guys think that its just us DK fanboys are thinking like this, I'm going to use Germany vs Argentina for tonight's world cup as an example)
What happens if germany strategy is being leaked out in the internet (the lineup and whatnot), do you think its fair for them as well? Or argentina for that matter if your supporting them.
Heck i would even support newbee if their strat is being leaked out ( and i really dislike newbee for that matter because of I really dislike hao and banana so yeah)
If someone strat is being leaked out in the internet and being used against them because of one guy leaking it out, I fucking pray to god that valve will stamp their authority and disqualify anyone who decides to do so.

Show me that guy. I'll punch him into pieces.
As if things weren't ridiculous enough already, DK can't catch a damn break.

Realistically how Valve catch people watching the video? They can just watch it in their rooms and use TOR or something

By planting secret camera like how gamefly did? I'm not so sure though, but i think the most realistic way is to have night shift and morning shift and assign 1 person from valve to follow every team in the rooms and stuff. Not ideal, but I think its the best way to counter act.
However, the valve crew cannot talk to anybody about what happens in the room with the team inside, what says in the room, stays in the room
If the players are sleeping, maybe install cameras inside the rooms just to prevent ''lying''.
Not an ideal way, but i think its the best way that we got right now.
Edit : what's TOR? is it torrent?

That response seems quite heavy handed and teams may not want it. You can read about TOR here but essentially it is a program used to mask network traffic.

I do think another viable option is to ban out youtube/youku and the likes right now though. (something like what china's been doing) since it is uploaded over there.
Does TOR has the ability to nullify that? But i do think the 1 person from valve think is actually a suitable option if valve handle it properly like not messing around personal belongings and stuff.
Maybe it just the way of how i'm writing that it seems too heavy handed because I'm quite bad at explaining in detail but I'm sure valve knows what to do when the situation can be out at hand with the fiasco

At this point honestly, what's done is done and cannot be undone. Sucks for DK (had no idea this was going on too), but the only thing that can be done to mitigate this is to ban the org from the rest of the event and likely from the next 1-2 TI's. A strong "you don't pull this shit" statement like that is likely to yield results.
I'm not one who usually gets riled up by silly things, but catching internal drafting comms during any event (and especially TI of all things) is a rather serious breach and should have serious consequences.

Anyway, what's done is done. But this of all things is not going to stop DK going all the way.
You can deny them scrims, you can try and spy on their drafting, but in the end, they're the best team in the world and they're here to show it. ^^

Agreed. What's released out can't be taken back, especially if it's on the internet. With that, I'm just gonna leave this here
+ Show Spoiler +
With LaNm's based drafting DK'll make it to the hall of fame again, I believe! ;D

I am jelly for Chinese netizens who have watched that vid and won't mind it to be translated to Western audience for next TI. Does it make me a terrible person, guys?
