We do have lore, almost all the heroes still have their names and titles mentioned in their lores
Lina is still the slayer, Sniper is still Kardel sharpeye and so on. I think it'd clutter the ingame screen to display it tbh and understand why valve don't. Although if there was a way to display it without it being cluttered, i'd say it could be cool.

It's about Blizzards copyrights isn't it? Would be interesting to hear how much Blizzard would want for the rights.

Nope it's not about blizzard copyrights, as said, almost all heroes still have their titles and lore intact. A few had their titles/names changed because of copyright though like potm is now princess of the moon and not priestess.

Ah okay sorry then. Must've mixed that up.

There's still a few things that could get screwed over if their rights holders cared.
Drow, Tarrasque and Leshrac are WotC trademarks (though I'm not sure if Drow has slipped too far into general culture). Lina isn't Inverse anymore, but her spells still all use the names.
Probably a few others I've forgotten.

i thought Tarrasque was a legit mythical creature?

I mean, it would probably be quite expensive and it's not looking like we're hitting $10 mil anyway, but even so. You don't have the slightest idea how much time and personnel it takes to pull that off. Meanwhile they would be wasting their time doing short films instead of art for new games/new playable content for current games. Consider that this is for a game that can, at the current going rate, pull in over eighteen million dollars a year, and that the animations don't have to be Pixar. Yes, it would be expensive, but I know what I want: lore.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love it too but it's not gonna happen. At most we mby get a new hype animation with many heroes in it, like in TI1.

And blizzard didn't invent the drow, come on people ,lol.

Tarasque is a mythical dragon.
Tarrasque is a D&D monster that never stays dead.

Didn't say Blizzard, said WotC.
And if they're the dark skinned, pointy-eared elf "Drow" then they're D&D. If they're small and members of the fair-folk, they're from traditional folklore.

I thought Tarrasque was that Ultralisk from the zerg campaign?

D&D came first.

reminder that almost everything in D&D comes from folklore somewhere

Oh oh oh.
We could instead have comics!
That would solve everything!

How about some drama, boys? https://www.facebook.com/mushichai/photos/a.280641568670484.67491.134272053307437/683433148391322/?type=1
Some of you who add Mushi at weibo may know the news already, let me tell u the story here..
DK has been boycott by China team (don't want to train with them) for quite some time because of xiao8 (Newbee) asking other team not to train with DK, just want DK to fall, stop them from improving, saying that DK is not truly a China team(because of Mushi & iceiceice), don't want them to be champion. I know many of u will ask for prove, I just can tell u, they got this news from a very reliable person & DK aint a person who will simply flame a person.
Other than training with VG, CIS, they can only train with public, or 2v2 among themselves.
