What is REALLY left @ the Teamliquid.net home website? 5-6 SC streams and then 10+ LoL streams highlighted. Makes perfect sense. SC2 threads still are quite active. And the people that visit TL for general/mafia/other games will stick to it. TL still has much more than this website. You can't see if someone edits his post here. Weird. I think I'm well aware of it SKC, that was specifically focused on the Streaming hub at the right. The PROBLEM is now none of us get to enjoy all of that, we have to come HERE to check streams, GO THERE to check SC2 + other content, go to the HEARTH site. Hypothetically if you follow all 3, that is 3x generated viewing from a TL standpoint but incredibly inefficient. That's a diferent issue. What was left at TL? A lot of stuff. The issue is that one thing that a lot of people liked was removed from it. So if you liked diferent parts of TL, you now are forced to go to two diferent websites. But TL didn't change much. The people affected were from the Dota section and it was still a minority in the whole site's traffic.
A lot of stuff that none of us get to enjoy anymore unless we "go there". Minority or not, we all got punished for following this game and it segregates the community. I've followed BW for 7+ Years, then Sc2, and now Dota existed again so I follow it as well.

yeah im pretty upset that the other community threads are only on the main site... feels like we got gypped
is it possible to have community threads exist on both websites?

is it possible to have community threads exist on both websites? This would be really cool.
Also, is the browser tab icon for this site the MSN butterfly?

I really only started playing dota because of the thread that existed on the TL forum. I probably never would have on a separate site.
Just saying.

is it possible to have community threads exist on both websites? agreed, and yes. Would be nice but kinda kills the point of a whole new site. Would be the same as simply adding a new Dota 2 specific sidebar on TL plus the aesthics. I don't see why they would do that.

I'd rather had the whole entire team liquid community than a shitty dota "calendar" which you can't even choose the date you will be available on.
I think the mods forgot that, Team liquid has never been just about the game, it's about the community. Segmenting the dota community off from the rest of TL and even removing any sort of non-dota sections from our forums sucks. It just doesn't feel the same
EDIT: RICH, sigs are broken, there is a giant white space

How successful would you guys rate the splitting of Hearthstone from teamliquid? It was successful. It definitely wouldn't have worked putting it on TL frontpage and having HS, StarCraft, Dota, etc on it. If you were to compare LH to the option of keeping it on TL, it's not really even close in terms of how it can grow. Show nested quote +On May 12 2014 07:37 FiWiFaKi wrote: I mean it's hard to say if teamliquid has been making good decisions recently, as their viewership has dropped to around 50% of what it was a year ago (going off of "active", as well as the activity I've been seeing). The real question is whether this will continue that streak or change it. This can be a really big nail in the coffin for teamliquid if it doesn't work out. In terms of traffic, viewership across all StarCraft sites has declined since 2012. I don't think this has much to do with any decisions we're making, it's just a reality in the scene. Dota was not growing on TL (at least not at the rate we consider acceptable) and the reason for this is because our Dota audience is just people that already use TL, not new users. This is because you have a site with a calendar not tailored to the game, with StarCraft icons, etc. It's not a very welcoming place for a Dota fan. This move at minimum will give our Dota staff and community a chance to grow. Status quo simply wasn't cutting it.
