I just had one of those games. 1 hour of action thanks to a furion delaying for around 25 mins after we took a set of rax. Luckily their Alchy seemed to be utterly unable to farm, otherwise it would have been GG at around 50 mins.

I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke.
EDIT: Goddamn, I actually forgot my question. So late late game, when you need to have buyback and have it fairly comfortably (2k more than required lets say), what should your policy regarding buying new items. This game in particular I was walking around with 3k sometimes after buyback and no idea what to do with it. I was dropping off pretty hard in effectiveness, even my ult was getting slightly wrecked by drow + furion.

Brewmaster is all about mid game power. If it gets that late you will always feel like a drow punching bag unless drow is super underfarmed. Assault Cuirass or Sheep would be the obvious choices as your team is lacking AC and you can never have too many disables.

In your game i woudl have built a vlads, it increases the overall power of your pandas while giving that BF/axe some lifesteal. It is a super underrated item on panda but I think it is amazing.

Wow the amount of farm for that game doesn't even add up. 1 hour long, 500+ gpm Drow with ONLY Daedalus + Manta?!!?? I had those at 30 mins on my last Drow game with a Drums as well. Yeah AC sounds about right to top you off. Or even a barbed armor let Drow + Prophet kill themselves if they want to attack you so bad. Plus it goes through Drow Silence or Orchid silence if you get caught in a bad position you'll have a way of retaliation.

Drow doesn't have mkb or bkb, you must've made him useless with your drunken haze.

I am announcing this right now: rubick is [still] imbalance. You may counter him if he solo mid but if a team running support rubick, you are pretty much fucked. The initiation range is HUGE in combination with limitation of spell combo/picks. The hero is great early game and scale HUGEly into late game as his ulti cooldown reduced for more spells chain. I am much more comfortable playing against invoker than Rubick right now....
+ Show Spoiler +
Playing Rubick a lot also give me a new perspective on hero design, looking at the spells of heroes that have a lot of passives like Sniper, Viper, Silencer and having them on rubick make him way more imbalance. This means that in a sense, rubick is always a viable pick while teams playing against rubick always have restriction in their picks. I would prefer to see this hero get remake rather than being nerfed... or if nerf, double the mana cost of the stolen spells would be appropriate.

I agree with him. AC or Sheepstick will be good on a endgame panda. your job isn't to dish it out, its to tank/disable/initiate. For me i would even suggest a radiance just to have some sort of presence in team fights. Depending on what you need.
|
Not to mention that you can always smile as support Rubick when you hit 6.
Oh, thank you kind sir for taking the time to max out that spell!
Edit: Radiance is an awkward item on Panda. You usually don't want to farm with it since you don't do THAT much with farm compared to carries. Radiance as a damage item gets weaker as the game goes on but usually you want stuff like Drum/Blink/Aghanims for the midgame, suddenly options like Shivas/Sheepstick look much more attractive.
Not to mention the fact that you already do have a built in radiance. =P

And i just found out UWaterloo DotA tournament is a MESS! The tourney has been going on for 1.5weeks with 49 teams in 7 groups. Since the price pool is so high and the rule set wasnt well made, teams are taking in pro players as official member as well as stand-in. So suddenly we have bleek, TC, bdiz, korok, 1437... all in a fucking amauter tournament that also have people who got their beta key for the very first time.... HOLY SHIT.
And it just happen that i got the worst group.... with my team has 0 experience of competitive dota(no offense to them, they are learning really fast). :O
Going to sleep tonight unhappy

Hell......I'm from UofT .....can I play as a stand-in somewhere? Just for funzies !
|
the price is 500$ and the only limit is having 3 people as Ontario students and all 5 must be able to attend LAN final. @_@... they just used TC in the game few hours ago, TC just invoker and went 10-1 or 12-1 smshit... How is this promoting any competition?

That is kind of the MO of DotA. Stand-ins and ringers.

I can only take a tournament serious that enforces a team to have a roster. Like TI2. Not saying they enforced, but the teams weren´t full of standins and shit.

Balkan Dota League final in 2009 or 2010 that ended with Fear's SF beating Demon's Lion in middle and then proceeding to roflroll through the rest of the match. The Farm4Fame final between Nirvana.Int and DDT, featuring Nv.Fear and Nv.Demon plus TH^Puppey, TH^Kuroky and TH^PGG against DDT.Ducky, DDT.Loda, DDT.Misery, Nv.Azen and mouz.Twisted. Today's MLG Prizefight, where Jeyo and Bdiz still haven't been announced as official members. Hell, even old SECS with Sacraloth as a standin.
