if not its possibly Dark Seer or Night Stalker, due to having the highest base armors in the game. Only until techies! iirc there was a Chinese guy who amoved every hero against one another at lv1, and the winner was pit lord There's always a Chinese guy for this sort of thing isn't there.

Overall I'd say Spiritbreaker, 29 strength and 5.38 armor. or 200 if you use spiritbreaker at your base. What the hell that guys level 1 hitpoints ^_^ I think we were both talking about the fact that DS and NS don't have the highest base armor in the game.

that would have been ~4950 matchups (100 heroes) which is highly unlikely

That's fine. I'm just saying effective hp is a far better baseline than highest base armor. Techies and Terrorblade are extremely lacking in the effective hp due to their abysmal health pools.

due to the existence of melee/range heroes and different movementspeeds you couldnt do it like you said.
edit: for example imagine a hero with infinite low movementspeed but infinite high damage, he would win against any melee but lose against any range

Well I guess that you could easily simulate it

There are simulations that account for movespeed and range.
and Spiritbreaker is obvious #1 because his baseline stats are far above any other hero. He has a very small less amount of armor (<.5) than some other str heroes, but he has a lot higher baselines in every other area.

Right off the bat I can tell you that Spiritbreaker doesn't have the highest combination since Night Stalker has the same base strength and more armor.
Wait, no I lied. I'm blindly using Playdota, which still hasn't accounted for the fact that Spiritbreaker has base 29 now instead of 23. Sorry tired.
This does make me wonder though how much EHP heroes have. Time to do some math.

I know it's not really worth discussing it, but how are you guys getting 5050? I mean, if you have the pool of 100 heroes and you want to pick 2 without counting doubles, that would for me be
n=100!/(2!(100-2)!)=4950
Am I doing the math wrong? (I know its a small difference, but I'm curious)

he's right, little error in the equation

Combinatorics is (are?) pretty awesome, though.
Shouldn't test of this kind account for abilities, though? It seems meaningless otherwise. With dragon's blood or whatever it's called now, davion could probably score among the first few heroes

ok, I see what you do. But you're wrong, because then you count from 0 to 99 (the last hero has NO matchup left) which leaves us again with 4950

Or 100C2 (I have no idea how to write it out in plain text, but those who know what I'm talking about should get it).
I'll explain my logic: You start with n heroes. Then you pick the second hero, which can only be (n-1) because you don't pick the same hero twice. Then divide by 2 because they're repeats. Technically it's 2!, but 2! = 2.

Being picky over a difference of 1 is pointless when we're not using an exact count of the number of heroes anyway.
There are 110 heroes, not 100.

According to my simulations it should look like this
All heroes at lvl 1, without spells, ignoring the inbuilt health regen, and assuming that they are all in melee range to each other, it should look like this. the integer being the amount of won fights + Show Spoiler +Removed all draws 'Ish\'kafel' => int 107 'Rooftrellen' => int 107 'Aggron Stonebreaker' => int 105 'Azgalor' => int 105 'Balanar' => int 105 'Tresdin' => int 99 'Rexxar' => int 95 'Darkterror' => int 93 'N\'aix' => int 93 'Barathrum' => int 89 'Slardar' => int 87 'Abaddon' => int 87 'Nessaj' => int 87 'Strygwyr' => int 86 'Dirge' => int 83 'Mangix' => int 83 'Harbinger' => int 80 'Rattletrap' => int 79 'Lucifer' => int 79 'Jakiro' => int 78 'Bradwarden' => int 78 'King Leoric' => int 78 'Cairne Bloodhoof' => int 77 'Ulfsaar' => int 75 'Tiny' => int 75 'Razzil Darkbrew' => int 73 'Pudge' => int 73 'Rigwarl' => int 73 'Sven' => int 73 'Ymir' => int 72 'Mogul Khan' => int 72 'Atropos' => int 71 'Rikimaru' => int 71 'Magnus' => int 70 'Kunkka' => int 70 'Meepo' => int 67 'Slithice' => int 66 'Purist Thunderwrath' => int 65 'Azwraith' => int 62 'Jin\'zakk' => int 62 'Leviathan' => int 61 'Raijin Thunderkeg' => int 60 'Raigor Stonehoof' => int 59 'Lanaya' => int 59 'Banehallow' => int 59 'Gondar' => int 59 'Mortred' => int 56 'Boush' => int 56 'Terrorblade' => int 53 'Eredar' => int 50 'Furion' => int 48 'Yurnero' => int 47 'Demnok Lannik' => int 46 'Mercurial' => int 46 'Aurel Vlaicu' => int 46 'Auroth' => int 45 'Knight Davion' => int 42 'Anub\'arak' => int 41 'Visage' => int 40 'Xin' => int 38 'Crixalis' => int 37 'Lina Inverse' => int 36 'Lesale Deathbringer' => int 36 'Syllabear' => int 36 'Kaldr' => int 34 'Darchrow' => int 33 'Magina' => int 33 'Leshrac the Malicious' => int 32 'Razor' => int 32 'Rizzrak' => int 32 'Luna Moonfang' => int 32 'Krobelus' => int 30 'Shendelzare Silkwood' => int 30 'Chen' => int 28 'Vol\'Jin' => int 28 'Rhasta' => int 26 'Traxex' => int 26 'Akasha' => int 25 'Thrall' => int 21 'Zeus' => int 20 'Rubick' => int 20 'Dazzle' => int 19 'Nortrom' => int 18 'Alleria' => int 17 'Jah\'rakal' => int 17 'Slark' => int 16 'Black Arachnia' => int 12 'Zet' => int 12 'Kael' => int 12 'Morphling' => int 12 'Pugna' => int 12 'Rotund\'jere' => int 10 'Squee Spleen and Spoon' => int 10 'Viper' => int 8 'Kel\'thuzad' => int 8 'Puck' => int 7 'Dragonus' => int 6 'Lion' => int 4 'Mirana Nightshade' => int 4 'Icarus' => int 2 'Huskar' => int 2 'Io' => int 2 'Aiushtha' => int 0 'Rylai Crestfall' => int 0 'Anub\'seran' => int 0 'Kardel Sharpeye' => int 0 'Medusa' => int 0 'Clinkz' => int 0 'Nevermore' => int 0 'Ezalor' => int 0

Yes, the Gauß formula is correct in this cast n(n-1)/2

you're right, changed my posts
edit: the exact number of heroes doesnt really matter because we have the formula which is right for every number of heroes
