I have no idea what i'm gonna play first. I thought getting beta access would help me picking, but it only made it harder.

Any tips on how to narrow down my choice?

As a beta player, in order of fun, I'd probably rank it like this:
1. Barbarian
2. Monk
3. Witch Doctor

(Big difference here)

4. Wizard
5. Demon Hunter

Barbarian is just awesome. I love having reactive skills like revenge, makes things much more interesting. You also send shit flying all over the place and you just feel strong as fuck. Just awesome and fun feeling.

Monk is a close second though really you could argue for him being the most fun. Everything feels fast-paced and you feel like such a badass.

Witch Doctor is really cool because none of his attacks are really just direct damage, everything has some other effect or gimmick to it. This will probably end up being the class with the most crazy and overpowered tricks. There's so much potential for synergy and experimentation. If you prefer casters Witch Doctor should easily be your #1 choice.

Wizard just isn't as fun as the Witch Doctor. More direct damage and less tricks. Feels more vulnerable and plain in comparison.

Demon Hunter is just... I don't know, shitty feeling to me. Everything feels like it should be doing so much more than it does, and her kiting ability where she does a backflip is cool, but clunky and cumbersome. Think POTM leap from Dota, but you don't get to control when it's used directly.

That said I will probably go either Barb or Witch Doctor. I wanted to go Witch Doctor at first because with all the moves that aren't in beta I could see him easily being the most fun, but then again I've always loved Melee most, and the fact that the Male Barb is canonically the dude who killed Diablo the second time makes the story more interesting. Will I see him broing around with Cain? Beta says no, which seemed awkward and weird, but here's hoping for some bromance.

1. Wizard (Female)
2. Witch Doctor (Male)
3. Monk (Male)
4. Barbarian (Male)
X. Derp Hunter (Derp)

I have had the most fun with the WD(by far coolest class ever), but I just can't see myself playing any other than Wizard(because of D2) first. Monk/Barb is to me neither here nor there, they're both awesome, I just prefer ranged caster.

I first beat Diablo with a warrior and Diablo 2 with a barbarian. It would only feel right to play that same barbarian again. And now that he has a bit of range it won't be so frustrating to deal with =D

I have no idea what my second class will be, but probably a Witch Doctor because I don't expect many of those to be running around.

Since Sorc was my fav in D2, I'm probably going Female Wizard first, but we'll see. I've already got a chart about what to name all my characters for each class & gender; names that sound good, fitting, and are all connected. Quite pleased with it.

As far as the: "What Gender will you play as for each class?" poll, it's a bit weird since you can only vote once, but I think most people will agree with me if I say this:

Barbarian - Male
Wizard - Female
Demon Hunter - Female
Witch Doctor - Male
Monk - Both, mostly Male

Edit: Interesting how close the main poll is btw.

I Love any class that maximizes efficientcy. For me that means WD or Wizard.

My List from first played to last is most likely:

Female Wizard
Male Barbarian
Male WD
Male Monk
Female DH

The wizard just feels so good, kills barrels like a badass and Their abilitys are just fun!

And barbarians are just badass. Holy hell its fun to make zombies FLY!
