Wait, so Tasteless and SDM had to put up their OWN money and GOM is now charging viewers to watch this? Are Tasteless and SDM getting a share of the fees, or what? It doesn't seem to make sense that they spend their own money for GOM to make money.

Can you say "Fuck you viewers?", because I think you can!

I will NEVER watch another GOM cast again, thank you very much. If you're going to shaft us like this, so be it.

this boycott is as likely to succeed as day[9]'s short-lived boycott of wcg 2009

Him saying that he won't continue to use the service of GOM is not a boycott.

http://flvdn.gomtv.net/viewer/xxxx.flv

where xxxx is the ID of the VOD

to get the ID, you look at the title of the video, for example:

the Mumbo Jumbo #2 video ( which btw is not even downloadable by premium yet)
http://www.gomtv.net/videos/855

has an ID of 855
you can get the ID by simply mousing-over the video's view button on the GOM website

the ID of 855 translates to a video ID of: 1304

so you would simply put in

http://flvdn.gomtv.net/viewer/1304.flv

from there, just work your way down the list of video IDs

1303.flv, 1302.flv..etc and download all of them

This works for ALL of their premium VODs, not just the regular ones from valor..etc.

And to my knowledge there is NOTHING illegal about this since you are downloading a file off a PUBLIC addressed in a public domain, there's no circumvention of any kind involved.

This is how I have been downloading the vod thanks to a friend. As it isn't illegal in anyway I hope some of you are able to enjoy the vods!

No SDM and Tasteless aren't getting any of the Premium subscriber money, they are only paid for work done for the Intel Classic Season 3.

This isn't their decision either, and I can't comment more about it now

Lipton can you please explain what the purpose of this tournament even is any more, and where the money is going?

Obviously for you the intent is to gain some fanbase for your starfeeder website, which is why you recruit people like Tasteless and SDM to make blogs on your gameriot thing similar to how you guys have done with e-celebrities in WoW. I am assuming you pay them something for the content they provide for your website (I should hope so)

So why has Tasteless stated that this tournament has cost him money? When he says "our money went into this" does he mean Starfeeder money, or his personal money and SDM's?

So if Tasteless is making no money from it like he says, is Starfeeder making money from it? No one seems to be upset at all that Gom is going to these measures to squeeze money out of viewers with your own tournament, so I don't believe that there is no money being made by parties other than Gom.

I feel like absolutely nobody in this tournament is being honest with the audience and i can only speak for myself but it pisses me off and is having the exact opposite result of what I think you ultimately wanted to accomplish which is gain some credibility with the Starcraft community.

For once I agree with floor exercise, and would also like to see his questions answered. AZ, Kennigit is right: if Valor wants to maintain a good reputation (and viewer-base) it should be more transparent. Giving us the fans a straight answer would just be good PR.

JWD, Kennigit you think knowing the behind the scenes infastrucuture of this tournament is important.

DL,tasteless, lipton and gom have all failed to meet up to expectations and in some cases we have been completely lied too. Can't I just blame all of them and move on? ESP since we all know that nobody is making money on this tournament. ESPORTS.

As for gom I don't think teamliquid should frown on people reuploading these vods and posting them here.

According to Tasteless the valor tournament was added content for people who had bought the premium ticket.

Im very aware that DLee and Tasteless got jerked around. I talked to them about it. It's still much better to provide some form of explanation especially when you announce a service publicly and then cant follow through.
