Why do they always do this? I thought they cared about showing exciting games to the fans so much? I guess it's good that they get mirror matchups out of the way early so it reduces the chances later in the tournament? You realize that we are looking at a potential of 11 pvp matches in that ro16 group? This is a travesty for the viewers. It's so ridicolous. Not only can he manipulate his own group, but even sabotage his rivals by tampering with two other groups than his own. So many seasons in the ro16 we repeat this sort of thing where two groups are good, two groups are laughable. So not only is it unfair to bestow the current champion with this advantage, but it is also damaging for the viewers. Lmao you hating a matchup doesn't make it a travesty. Where did i say i hate pvp? I enjoy the matchup in fact. But having a group of all mirror matchups will get tiresome in the end. For semantic reasons it might be a better to use a word like " really bad" than "travesty", i could concede that.

eh i dont think it will be too bad, its just a deep dive into the matchup. Most of the games will be quick reaver pushes and over in ten anyway. if the pvp group was a tvt group it would take a week to complete. we are blessed.

EDIT: COOL! I think it's great that the possibly best pvp players are playing against each other and they all have to only prepare for this matchup. What I'd do if I wouldn't be interested in this group is to just skip it.
EDIT2: Hope to see Stork go through~~~ <3 <3

going to pick:
group a - last / sharp group b - mini / action group c - rain / stork group d - flash / soulkey
|
Group A: TvT fest. Really tough for Rush, ez for Last and Sharp. Group B: Looks exciting. I think Larva in a lot trouble: 1) If he gets Mini on Block Chain he's done 2) Unredictable ZvZ vs. one of the consistent zergs Action 3) Monster TvZ terran Light. Group C: PvP fest. I think Stork has an upper hand here but Rain, Snow and BeSt aren't forces to joke with. Group D looks like cakewalk for FlaSh, only force is SK. I'm not that convinced about Sacsri even if he won his group by defating FlaSh, IMO he got lucky.
Group A (head): Last, Sharp. Group A (heart): Sharp, Rush.
Group B (head): Mini, Action. Group B (heart): Larva, Action.
Group C (head): Stork, Rain. Group C (heart): Stork, BeSt.
Group D (head): Flash, SK. Group D (heart): Sacsri, SK.
EDIT: I forgot, ro16 going to be bo3 right? Then it's ever better and exciting and of course unpredictable.

Its more predictable, you mean. Less variance.

I get that Stork is back and everyone is excited about it, it's even likely he is favored to advance over Snow and Best, but over Rain, the king of PvP? Also, group A should be easy for Last but Sharp's weak TvZ makes Zelot a respectable opponent.
Overall, I tend to agree with you but my heart says Mini, Larva from group B(maybe my head too) and Best, Snow from group C(but that's almost impossible).

Last&Rush Action&Larva Rain&Stork Flash&SoulKey

The Muta vs Goliath battle in the loser match made me so sad. Zero micro from Zerg :-(
|
Nice to see Stork coming back in to form- his appearance has changed a lot since the old days. Not too happy with the casters, I ended up just watching the Korean stream. I'm not trying to be a hater but when I watch casters other than Tastosis they just don't have that level of professionalism, polish, and game knowledge that makes it so entertaining to listen to. More professional SCBW casters other than just Tasteless and Artosis would be so awesome. Cadenzie seems like she has some game knowledge but her delivery is rather lackluster, she sounds like an amateur streaming on twitch rather than a professional commentator.

Well, Best crushed the group as expected and Light just played his solid style in the other games. The last game was really nice though.

Yes that was incomprehensible. : /

I would rather watch a pure TvT group than a pure PvP group. xD

Shame it wasn’t Sacsri in group one instead of Zelot. His ZvT has been great to watch lately.

jyj and miso kinda disappointed me today.
You should keep your opinions to yourself though

Just watched all the game, what the hell was the zerg thinking in the losers match? So much wasted mutas for nothing...

Caring about the players makes PvP much more exciting though. I'm sure that's true of any match up. But there's three old Protoss players I love in that group and in all likelyhood Rain will go through and two of my favourites will go out.

My ro16 predictions: Group A: Last and Sharp (Although I hope Zelot displays some epic ZvT cheezes) Group B: Mini and Action (Althought Light might advance over Action) Group C: Rain and Stork (Snow seems his nerves crack in PvP) Group D: Flash and Soulkey

Cadenzie is doing fine, improving from one cast to the next. She does also provide the knowledge, and even thought her co-caster was not on top of bw-related matters, he did do a decent job by asking her questions about what was happening, thus 'complementing' her in this cast.
Cadenzie plays at the top level in league(s) now, lives in Korea, and is rapidly improving her skills and getting to know other progamers on a personal level, just as Tastosis have done in the past. So IMO they both can have the same level of 'game knowledge', but Tastosis have been casting and casting ASL in particular since the get go, therefore they have a lot more relations & experience in the specific caster-situations.
It's not easy to please everybody so if you have listened a long time to Tastosis then perhaps a word of advice: Be more patient before commentating stuff like this. Especially that last sentence: 'she has some knowledge bla bla', kinda tells me that you do not know of Cadenzies or her skill level in general, and when you are uninformed, perhaps its better to NOT voice your opinion to the world, when clearly YOU are the amateur?
Atleast be more detailed when critizizing. It's a 20 year old game, be happy there still are casters providing english content & commentary. Or go do better yourself :-)
Second time now (commentating on other posters before the games) but this stuff really irritates me...
I think the last group had decent games, Best was in Be(a)st mode! My predicitons for Ro16: Group A: Last & Zelot Group B: Mini & Action Group C: Rain & Snow Group D: Flash & Soulkey
|
A - Last, Sharp B - Mini, Action C - Rain, Best D - Flash, Soulkey (or Horangi if SK can't play)
|
I actually enjoyed the cast, shame it's not always we can have the privilege of having a high skill player who is actually playing the game like Cadenzie.
When is Tastosis is like what Artosis plays casually while Tasteless adds memes to the cast because his wrists are dead?
