Flash isn't "slumping" I think, he still hasn't any major flaws in his play. His losses come when his opponent doesn't lose concentration and just bit by bit strikes him here and there. And his wins from a disadvantageous position come from the fact that his opponent does lose the concentration and Flash doesn't.

how long did bonjwas usually stay bonjwas after they were recognized as bonjwas? usually not that long, right?

only two bonjwas were recognized as such during their actual reign - Savior and Flash.

So, was he recognized by the Koreans or not? If it's "official" and the commentators+majority agree, then it's fine. Otherwise, it's not.

How can anyone not consider him bonjwa after the last year? O_o

It was "official" after Flash beat Jaedong in Shanghai.

Could someone explain to me exactly what makes it "official?" Isn't it all opinion?

So a Flash poster is on the bonjwa wall now? I never really heard of it, so I wouldn't know. Wonder whether there was a Korean article about it...

It is as I wrote, commentators+majority of the Korean community. That's my opinion at least and I put the word in quotation marks, so take it as it is

The Koreans named Flash the Fifth Bonjwa after he took the double grand slam. He was the second to win both OSL and MSL during the same season after Nada.

There was a thread on it, but I am too lazy to find it.

Was Flash even recognized by the Koreans? Afaik, it was always said that there can't be any more bonjwas due to a change of the scene.

That was before his back to back finals/simultaneous OSL/MSL/(SPL!) wins...when JD was actually competitive against Flash.

And IIRC the "bonjwa" label was applied in the Savior era...the rest were retroactively named?

yea i think that might be true. i guess it only applies to savior, who I think wasn't considered bonjwa until his OSL win?

Savior lost the MSL to Bisu one week after he royal road his OSL title over Nada.

Yes, somehow, for some reason, it took Savior 3 MSL trophies, one MSL silver, numerous other achievements including utter domination of the entire scene worth of time to qualify for his first OSL ever.

Savior achieved his "bonjwa" status due to a series of special event tournaments known as "Super Fights". After he 3-0'ed Boxer, the Koreans started calling him "bonjwa".

I woke up the morning just after the losers match had ended, checked the results, and blinked to make sure I was reading it right. I shook my head in disbelief and blinked again. This continued for a while. Then I started reading the LR thread, and went "Holy crap, it's true."

Wow, was not expecting Flash to drop out 0-2 this early in the competition. This means he has to play in Survivor next season, right? When was the last time he had to play in MST?

Haha, such an insane amount of comments since Flash lost.
I'd love to see Flash in MST though.

How epic it might be if an epic protoss(Bisu) fights Jaedong in an epic PvZ for his epic 4th msl which would be an epic comeback.
and it will all happen I tell you.
w/o flash and w/ more amateur terrans entering Ro16, the tournament just got more exciting with these possibilities.
as for Flash, who cares about him? All he wants is atleast 5 OSLs.
