it is only contagious, if it is "broken up". which means the wounds it makes in your lung break up and the contagious slime and blood come up when you cough. in that stage it is very contagious, but it's the last thing to happen, you can even have tb over years without knowing it.

imagine yourself shaking on the floor and nobody cares, that would be like hell, because in such a situation you are dependend on the help of others.
but you are right that if you are "just" sick or a doctor or the ambulance is already there to help, it would be false to go there and force your help on them.
