Dont think of balloon like pure donations - Think of them more like twitch subscriptions or donations: they just look like the streamer gets all the $$ from those, while twitch gets their share - or paypal etc. (for "providing the service etc") For balloons I think it's up to 50% that goes to the company (new streamers/VJs starting out), while more prominent/long time VJs lose less. Flash got a deal to get 70% or earnings/30% to the hosting company. Bakc to topic: So HYPED to see moar of Jardong ! <3 I hope he catches up fast, would really love to see him roughen up the "competitive" scene  )) | ||

Afreeca keeps a certain % the ballons BJ's receive for themselve, this is how Afreeca makes money on the more basic scale. There are 3 types of BJ's on afreeca: -Regular BJ (I'm pretty sure thats not the correct name, but w/e) they get 50% of the money they receive in balloons, the other 50% goes to Afreeca. -Star BJ (not sure if thats the correct term either): they get 60% of the money they receive in balloons. -Partner BJ: get the 70% of the money Of the thousands of BJ's on Afreeca only a few, like 30 or so, are Partners BJ's, Nada and Flash are the only Partners BJ's on BW if I'm not mistaken, meaning they have some sort of contract with Afreeca where they have to follow some kind of schedule and participate in evens as part of the deal. Bisu was offered the partnership but rejected it, so he is StarBJ, as many of the more popular bw streamers, probably JD will be StarBJ too, but thats just guessing | ||

For example, several months ago Sea was playing a TvT one night on-stream and he went off and said "Wait a minute this dude plays likes Flash..." Turns out Sea was right. It was Flash, and this was before Flash started streaming BW. Sea was able to do figure out who he was up against purely because he knew Flash's playstyle well enough to prove it was him. The same is true for Jaedong. Jaedong's peers know his style to the point that they were able to "out" Jaedong as jiko/424 very early on. Is jiko/424 100% confirmed Jaedong? no. Is jiko/424 99.99% confirmed Jaedong? Yes. | ||
