rename the title to Gretech so idiots dont get confused.
quote from Jon747
Today I have received copyright warning once from youtube since CRETECH (GomTV) reported youtube.
I took off all of them related to CRETECH (GomTV), FPVOD, MST, and MSL ect.

Why would they do this? They don't even have any tournaments anymore.

Yeah this is nuts, I honestly don't see how they even have the rights to any of the MSL stuff. Could someone explain if this truly is the case?

They express interest all the time, and its always in the vein of "don't let the foreigners have any access to anything we do".

Are Starcraft VODs archived anywhere other than YouTube? For all we know, YouTube could go bankrupt tomorrow, or they might decide to kill all Starcraft VODs for some arbitrary reason. Already some VODs on YouTube have had their sound disabled due to the intro music.

I think he deleted at least 2,000 videos . . . pretty sure he was at 8,000+ the other day and now it's more like 6,000. Maybe I'm wrong though

The royalties of the intro music would have been paid by the gaming channels

You're guilty of copyright infringement until you prove yourself innocent.

It seems they dont GIVE A F*CK about the non-korean fans, as we dont mean a direct "revenue" for those channel and their executives

Copyright infringement notices made under § 512 can only be made by someone authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner. Obviously we don't know the details of Gretech's sponsorship agreement with MBCgame, but it's possible that the agreement authorized Gretech to enforce any copyright violations with respect to the games they sponsored.
Youtube gets thousands of these notices a day. They can be liable for damages for not removing infringing videos, but they have no liability under the law for removing videos that are not actually infringing. Therefore, they just take down anything that anybody complains about, whether it's a valid claim or not. You can file a counter notice, but considering the videos do actually infringe MBC's copyrights, that's not such a great idea.

I read the title as gretorp and was like O.o wtf?

Bumping this thread, Baezzi posted on his channel that today he recieved another copyright notice from GOM (he did not mention gretech i'm just reporting) and he will from now on stop uploading games.
I'm just flattered by the whole thing and also i feel like BaeZZi is under the wrong impression. What does gom have to do with him uploading new games from MBC or OGN?
(actually i'm just pissed because i missed the sAviOr games this morning and will have to wait for zatic to upload them tomorrow but i thought i'd share this anyways -.-)

MBC and OGN don't seem like they would care whether they alienated foreign viewers or not... Atually I saw a commercial once on OSL, where they were happy about all the foreigners in their audience.

What i don't understand is why gretech reported BaeZZi again after he removed his vods belonging to gretech, perhaps he missed some?
I also am quite convinced he misunderstood them, there is no reason for him to stop uploading KeSPA vods, i'm also going to miss his naming formats (winner of game 1 vs spoiled name anyone?)

Back the large multinational corporation into a corner and it will rear it's ugly head.

This has got to be a mistake by GomTV right? Jon has specifically stated that he had deleted all VODs relating to GomTV, why the FUCK is GomTV on his ass again? First, they want people to pay to watch Valor Tournament, and now they are fucking over the foreign viewers? I thought they supports the idea of making e-Sports global to everyone. Don't tell me they are being childish to do this to us just to get some attention for the reason that there will not be any Season 4 Gom Classic tournament? Without Baezzi, now the only source left is Nevake, and God knows he might be next??? THis is FUCKING BULLSHIT! So FUCKING PISSED.
