wasn't able to play for like a month after silencer...
Asha's daily hero diary:

I always like these challenge type things. I did some compendium match making last year, I wrapped up my 10 heroes quickly when that came out, and I was happy to have another one to keep me busy through till TI this year.
Naturally then I looked forwards to rolling my first hero, only to immediately be hit with a wave of dismay as I end up with a Meepo. The hero always seems fun to play but I hadn't exactly had the best experiences on him previously.
Day 1: Meepo the Geomancer.
I contemplated solo queue for a bit but decided to inflict myself upon friends instead. We had a couple of randoms and a couple of picks and ended up running a Meepo/Leshrac safelane, Invoker mid, and a Centaur + Abaddon offlane. It started out pretty smoothly up against a Clock + NS, though things got a little more awkward come first night. Still, there was no early trouble and we even managed to get a kill on the clock when invoker popped up in top
The game was progressing reasonably well, especially in the other lanes and I was taking pains to avoid feeding like an idiot which almost worked out until I got greedy in mid and was swapped back under a tower. Fortunately things were going rather better in bot as Drazerk's Centaur + our friend Henry's Abaddon went about their business of ruining PA's day, and Shaun's Invoker was around for clean up duty.
At this point the game pretty much continued in the same pattern, we pressured their PA in bot lane with CW/Aba combo (+ lesh backup from mcdayc), I tried to farm and not die while being close enough to join fights, and Invoker contributed wherever was necessary.
Clock got greedy taking our top tower and I picked him off together with Invoker. Meanwhile bot lane went on another rampage under their T1. I think not actually taking the tower for so long in that lane worked in our favour as they kept trying to defend an area they couldn't hold.
At that point we had some significant gold/xp leads over them and with me getting up aghs, invoker with book 3 and spirits, and a leshrac we were able to pretty quickly mop up their remaining towers.
They didn't offer much defence when we went to break high ground and PA just dc'd out so it ended up being a fairly uneventful end to the game.
Still, that was Meepo down in one shot and while I didn't contribute much at least I wasn't playing so badly as to help them instead! Thanks to team for carry.

I'll neaten up the formatting as I add other entries. On the subject of other entries if I go on a massive loss streak with a hero I'll probably editorialise things into one clump of misery rather than mentioning all of it in all its depressing details...

Day2: Batrider
Day 2 dawned and the shadow of the bat loomed large across the dota map. I really enjoy playing bat despite a pretty mediocre 36% winrate on the hero, so I figured I'd venture off into solo queue to see what I could do.
Oh the pub life. I set off down my lane to find myself being accompanied by a Tusk who seemed interestingly prepared for the game. Ah well, how bad could laning really go?
ok ok, let's move on.
Thanks to our Pugna pushing down a few towers early and me avoiding trouble I got a pretty quick blink up regardless, and was able to immediately start finding some hero kills.
Their mostly untroubled Sven (when we had tried to trouble him Tusk tended to die...) got picked off a couple of times, but at 5-9 on kills our Earthshaker decided he'd simply had enough and quit.
Once he was gone we got on a real roll, I was able to grab out targets pretty reliably and PA had enough farm to follow up and kill them. We even had a brief bout of optimism having brought the kill score to 15-16 in our favour and having halted their progression.
Then we initiated stupidly, lost a fight, and lost the game! GG.
Time for round 2 and this time with friends. I laned against a bizarro Venge Mirana Viper (support) trilane which was a weird kind of nuisance. Naturally I got overconfident and fed a kill underneath my own t1 trying to get a few more creeps (fortunately it wasn't first blood).
whoops
I got a slightly slower blink this game but was able to start to look for kills around the map. First time out I caught myself a juicy nyx lurking on our jungle highground.
The game was pretty close through 20 minutes or so but we took a pretty good fight and started to get our first decisive advantage.
We continued moving around the map looking for pick offs before Mag hit a big 3 man rp at the radiant t2 top that sent a number of valuable kills their way. I didn't get caught out, but mainly because I was afk farming neutrals...
They tried to push back onto our side of the map a few times but thanks to flying vision we often had the initiation advantage. I grabbed us a viper but the pesky Nyx showed up and popped Drazerk like a balloon. We killed him in trade but couldn't take any more of them.
A short while later Luna scouted ahead with an invis rune and was able to set up and easy double eclipse and we followed up into a couple more kills. They couldn't contest as we went for mid rax (note the expert target firing), and almost the same situation happened a short while later when we went to take bot rax too. They looked for one final initiation with moonlight shadow but we were able to neutralise Mag and mop things up.
Not as good an individual game as I had in my solo venture, but a win is a win!

You're thinking of the occasional vengeful spirit.
