Small anecdote: I live off of one of the Great Lakes and have a lot of experience with snow. My freshman year roommate was from Katy, TX which is near Houston and ran outside in bare feet the first day it started snowing. It was bizarre that he had literally no idea what snow felt like.

I wish it would have started snowing earlier this morning, so I wouldn't have had to driven to work, and then fled in terror from this white shit like haflway through the day. You can't drive on ice, I'm lucky I made it back without running into something!

@AgentW, yeah it's pretty funny seeing some of the Florida people and stuff react who have never seen snow before. At the same time I have some friends from New Hampshire who are like school closed before a snowflake falls? what is this shit

@Sentenal, yeah that sucks that they waited so long for most things. My parents live further to the south and their entire town was basically shut down as of last night. Georgia Southern apparently canceled school for today like last night and they didn't even get snow in Statesboro today. wtf! Also, sorry if that's your truck but fuck that guy with the UGA license plate

Also, I'm doing a design class this semester. My adviser lives in Connecticut so our group has to meet up and skype him or whatever to talk to him and we usually do it once a week on Tuesdays. One member in my group commutes + school was canceled so I had to try and explain to this guy why 1-2 inches of snow was a serious reason for us not being able to meet up haha. I'm pretty sure he was just like are these kids fucking serious but he ended up being ok with it. It's just funny how easily this city gets shut down.

Nah, the UGA one was just some car I walked by, my truck is the red Dakota... Well, I guess right now its white. I drove by some nasty wreaks on the way home from work earlier. Had a hard time making it past them, it was like navigating a Zelda Ice Temple.

It's 8 here and my furnace is broken. I have it reading 46 degrees in my freaking living room. Staying as far away from my apartment until I absolutely have to tonight. I wish we closed for stuff like that.

On the opposite side I remember moving from Memphis where we would have situations like that, to Colorado, and being flabbergasted (and feeling slighted) that the 10 inches of snow weren't even going to get us a delayed start.

We have even less snow than ya'll here in Athens (about 1 inch) but its getting crazy over here as well. Saw 2 traffic accidents on my way back from work.

lol at closures to snow. I think I've only ever seen my university close once at like 3 in the afternoon when we were getting pounded with snow. My classes were finished by that point so it didn't matter XD Good writeup

Someone I know commutes to GT from Chamblee which according to google maps should typically be about a 20 minute drive. It took her over 3 hours to get home

I don't even understand. When there's two inches of snow, people drive at normal speeds, and everything is fine. I guess it's like Atlanta's version of Pittsburgh's tunnel. People get petrified by those.
