But publishing private conversation is not ok. And especially not when take has specifically told you that publishing private conversation is not ok. And the biggest problem right now is you, TB. You are supposed to be the one who is taking the shitstorm and make it ok. Tell the fans that axiom will be fine. Give confidence to not only the fans but also the players. But no, instead you go off tweeting fuck you to take. Step it up TB. You guys own as much responsibility as take if not more. And before calling that lawsuit as a threat, think about who gave them the opportunity to use it as a threat and whether it is possible that legal action can be acted upon and why is that the case.

Everyone who has an input about these things generally give a very simple answer, which may be helpful to few, but are never helpful for many (such as take x drug or do x with your life.) Chronic mental illnesses are not something that are just "fixed" by any single solution. This is a part of who a person is, this is who they are. Not to say that it can be helped or remedied, but it comes down to an individual's response to their own unique character trait, it's never just a simple answer. Small rant, I guess, but that's what I focused on with the speech more than anything else (as I've said, I don't follow the scene anymore.) Thumbs up for recognizing this as it is and stating it as it should be.

Talk therapy works best with mild to moderate depression; severe depression is believed to be more rooted in the brain's biology because it responds very poorly to talk therapy (talk therapy here defined as CBT [Cognitive Behavioral Therapy] and any form of therapy involving words being spoken). For serious depression, medication may be THE ONLY answer. Serious depression can be a brain disorder. Examples of other brain disorders are schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, OCD, and on and on... listening to Dr. FantasmicalPay$40ForMyTapesBecomeAMillionaire's line of crap will do almost nothing to cure a severe chemically-rooted brain disorder. It's important to understand that a mental illness impairs one just the same as a missing thumb, or loss of vision in one eye; the only difference is it's impossible (right now) for an outside observer to view the physical cause of the malady, resulting in ignorant people concluding it must not exist. This is not dissimilar to the anti-bacteria existence/germ existence line of thought that existed in the late 19th century. KelianQatar, people like you suggesting that quack-sociopath-greedy-cult-leaders like Nathaniel Branden can fix anything other than mild depression/mild self-esteem issues are contributing to the stigma that it is within one's power to change oneself, and depression is "all in your mind." The only answer here is for Genna to see a board-certified Psychologist (who will refer her to a Psychiatrist if necessary) or a licensed Psychiatrist. I have zero doubt in my mind that TB is on this already. This post was meant to provide Psych 101 knowledge to anyone who believes in quackery, not medical advice.

You make good points, but exaggerating the opposite belief of something that is wrong doesn't make you right. It is biological but still influenced by the person's own brain to a certain extent... its not black and/or white...saying that medication is the ONLY answer is objectively unintelligent. it is not the only answer, and more often than not makes things worse for those who have more control of their brain. edit: and Dr. FantasmicalPay$40ForMyTapesBecomeAMillionaire's line of crap will never really help, ofc.

Nathaniel Branden is a quack and recommending his "services" (which do not even seem to include real-life face-to-face therapy sessions) to someone who is known to have had suicidal ideations is terribly irresponsible. I guess this is the classic case of science vs. new age mysticism.

Not only is that not true, the statement is a nonsequitur. Having a therapist is not the same as a psychiatrist, and some psychiatrists prescribe depression meds like candy to women because they are a heavy buyer market for them; depression meds make significant bank all around. Many psychiatrists have come to resent this practice and there is a growing group of people who point to the failure of depression meds to show significant clinical results in cases besides extreme depression. That is neither here, nor there. I agree with ETisMe on this one. TB you're not winning me back right now. You've come to the table and your first words are ones that you want to recant? Don't do this. You are a strong orator, I'll never take that away from you, but when it comes to PR, you screwed up dude. It's hard to take you or your brand seriously when your first statement is fuck you and your second is, "oh well, bad idea, I recant that, never happened guys." I understand mental illness, but that doesn't get rid of responsibility, we've seen that in the a couple cases now in E-Sports. TB, you're going to need to do some serious apologizing and maybe even some toning down of your rhetoric in this case, this isn't solved by getting rid of a manager.

It is easy to take words like "depression" and "stress" out of context, particularly if you are a person who has never experienced this kind of issue or if you have never had to treat someone who has. These kinds of problems are not like having an infection you can treat with antibiotics, these are chronic illnesses that can't be boxed into a single disease because of their manifestation is entirely dependent upon a person's life experience. That Genna persevered in face of this under the constant duress for over a year is nothing short of remarkable and it is profoundly sad for her and for the scene that it has come to this. I am in awe that TB would come out as he has with this speech, that he would be so honest and personal with complete strangers, many of whom can be expected to be hostile and uninterested, regardless of the justification, demonstrates a unique strength of character. Whatever personal dislikes people may have for TB (or Genna or anyone in their position like Take, trying to create something), people should recognize that their attacks don't just harm them, they harm the scene and e-sports when we lose the very people we need to make it grow.

It is actually incredibly disrespectful and meddling with private matters. Have some sense of decency and take your discussion elsewhere. Second this, if you want to talk about it privately then do it. This is a public forum, and ironically many people here are doing exactly what they said shouldn't have been done with this whole situation anyway (talking publicly about private issues). Good luck to TB and the team at Axiom!
