Hi all,
A friend of mine, Kyle Lambky, every year throws a fundraiser supporting the fight against cancer. This year it's supporting the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!. The fundraiser is always video game themed and this year he is setting an incredibly ambitious goal. To raise $10,000 over 3 days streaming mario themed games. He's already 1/4 of the way there a few hours in, but I'd really like to see this not lose any steam.
This means a lot to him as his own mother passed from cancer. He is genuinely one of the most kind hearted and philanthropic individuals I've ever met. The stream itself is a bunch of guys hanging out, just enjoying themselves playing mario games. You won't find any amazing speed runs or ridiculous displays of skill, but you will find a group of people trying to make a difference. Also, he's using twitch.tv as a medium and I think we all here would also like to support them.

Our team is a group of friends from Orange County who would like to raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (“St. Jude”) and all the great work they do. We really enjoy playing video games and realized that hosting a video game marathon to benefit St. Jude would be a great way to combine our hobby with a really amazing cause. In the process we hope to entertain our audience and inspire them to support St. Jude. During the event, we will be joined by our friends and family who have been an amazing source of support for our endeavor.
The way this event will benefit St. Jude is that the more donations that we are able to collect on our website during the event, (all donations on the website go directly to St. Jude) the more Mario video games that will be unlocked for our team to play. Furthermore, as certain donation goals are met, we would like you, the audience, to suggest for members of the team or the entire team to do things to keep everyone entertained (keep it tasteful please!).
