I won't be aiming for GM, but definitely for mid-master. I am a high-plat/low-diamond Zerg (though massive under-activity has put all my accounts in Gold). I will set up my computer and start a practice regime immediately, and see if I can get Masters post-purge. If I can do that in the next 2.5 months, maybe I can continue an equally efficient practice schedule to be in a good place for the next MLG. Good luck!!

In all honesty, you will probably just start facing low GM players at most. But that would still be cool!

But will this guy do it? I doubt it. Seems a bit bizzare to post this in SC2 general especially since he has no previous pro gaming experience. If you had been already trying for 2.5 months and made it to top 8 masters before challenging yourself to reach grandmasters in 2 months, it would have been something worth watching. PS: Reaching grandmaster level and actually being placed in grandmaster are two different things. For example look at streamers like Painuser - a top masters player, MaximusBlack, currently rank 30 in masters, and a bunch of others, and they've all been playing for a long time.

I have plenty of "pro gaming experience" - Just in other games, I also was 1k games 80% N811 in Wc3 ;D As I read through the comments, the odds seem kinda bad. This gonna be interesting.

I feel getting top X master's would be a much more realistic goal. http://www.sc2ranks.com/ranks/all/master Currently the top place is ~1500 points. Aim for that! GL HF!

From diamond with no experience beforehand as how to professionally train, yes, it is absolutely impossible right now. Especially midseason. If your only goal is to reach grandmaster aka you don't really care about being "good" , you could allin with a strong 2 base timing every game but as I understood, his goal is really being grandmaster as in actually good.

people debate whether he can or cant. throw some flamage here and there, and he+thread disappear into the depth of the internet 98% chance you won make it. Youd have to get your MMR up before season ends. The easiest time to "level" up is between seasons. At that point your behind on games etc and have to make up the other 2 months you werent playing. Whats the 2% you ask? Find a very cheeky/cheesy P or T build and learn it and do it every match(honestly dont think you can pick up zerg right now and win with some bad all ins, theyre not as strong as P and T cant be) Something that will let you finish a game fast so you can play X amount of games in a day with a decent win ratio. Thats your only shot. Cheers

No really it is. At the very very top of gm it might be a little harder but even then not by much.

It really depends. He has 1.7k games total, but the important question is how many of these are 1v1s? There's a lot of people who could be good who never put in time nor effort. If he can put in 8 hours a day and possibly even grab a coach (might not even need a coach, if he has like 50 1v1 games since the release of sc2 he could possibly have some talent), I can see it happening.

I think that your best chance is to find extremely abusive builds which give you quick victories, I doubt that in macro games you will be able to learn fast enough to reach GM in 75 days, even if you just play, eat and sleep. Or you could be a some kind of a prodigy and we will be hearing from you in few months taking games off Korean pros.
