I normally reserves this blog space for updates on our Clan or our player profiles and even announcements however today I will simply blog. For those that'll read through this fully you have no idea how much I appreciate every one of you. Seeing the blog view counter climb is very fulfilling. That being said I'm simply winging this one some things have been on my mind which I'd like to share.
First I would like to reiterate my goal for our clan. We have a very simple objective. Find players who want to improve and help them do so. We do this by having a practice sessions where I or one of my admins put two players of similar skill against each other while the rest of us obs. This method has produce awesome results. Not only are the players getting amazingly better but it has brought a brotherhood to the clan. Every member is close and they all know that there is a friend only a message away from help with the game. All you have to do is watch one of youtube videos of practice to see how much fun we have all while improving our game.

just a fyi sorry for the audio at the time we were doing mass skype calling which cut down on the audio quality we have since moved to ventrillo.
Next, though this method is working it has a fundamental flaw.we can simply not facilitate a huge amount of players in practice. As of right now our practice sessions are regularly going 4 hrs+. Not a big deal to some however i've found that most SC2 players are night owls so practices are at 9pm central. Meaning that for West Coast practices head into 2am! I really appreciate all the team for having regular attendance however by allowing more players in to the practices this results in even later sessions.
At this point I would like to state that I will never allow Dark Onyx to be like some of the larger clans with 200 members and no one know each other. If and when Dark Onyx gets to 200 members I will have along with the entire team a personal friendship with all of them. This is a non-negotiable idea in my opinion. I find it unacceptable for players to "Join" a clan and not get what they bargained out of it.
That being said with the creation of our new website there will be a sign up and community forum so that players can reach out to members. Simply doing this would only make us a copy cat to other clans so my admins and I have been and will continue to talk about more methods to include all players that want to improve. Currently I have 10 players that want to join a meet our players but they can not make practices. We WILL provide the environment they need.
Our clans commitment to its players and the community will never be in question. Not that it is, I simply want to convey that we are busting our ass to handle our growth with no players left behind.
In the past we have "cut" players for not being able to come to practices because it was unfair to the members that could. However at this point in time we are self sustaining and are ready to invite the community in. No we still do not have a way to fool proof method of ensuring that all new members are taken care of but we will very soon. For those that are in limbo thanks so much for being patient and allowing Dark Onyx to be your home. For all of those that are still looking for a home well all I can say is I hope the above brings light to my passion for you guys and my team.
