Second, I agree and yet disagree on the Husky bit. Is it a pain in the ass to have those videos broken up like that? Yes, it can be sometimes. I sometimes put on VODs while cleaning or whatever and having to make a playlist of all his videos before-hand vs. clicking on a 40 minute long VOD is obnoxious. As far as him making money off of them by making you watch his videos 4x per vid? It's definitely a little greedy but he's making money off of something he enjoys and spends his time doing - even if he does it in a more profitable but less convenient way than others. Now, that could be said that his "greed" or his ability to make more money/VOD has caused the videos to be broken apart, but I really can't fault him for wanting to make the cash off the videos. I am kind of on the fence whether that's okay or not okay (to me). I guess we'll see where he goes with things from here on out. On the off-chance that Husky reads the thread, one of the things that made subscribing to the old school BW VOD guys so great was that they DID NOT split up all the VODs into little 10 minute segments. So you should do that. Because sitting and watching the game all at once is better than sitting and watching 10 parts of a single game. ![]()

I think that was more because he was actually begging for cash. Granted I haven't watched Husky since the very start of SC2 so I don't know if he's always asking for cash or not.

Old Directors accounts didn't have a time limit on Youtube, so they could post long VODs in a single video, without having to break them up. New accounts can't do that, and had a 10 minute cap on their videos (I heard it recently got increased to 15, but I dunno). Thus people had to split up videos over several parts, if you wanted to upload the whole thing.

The videos are responses to the previous ones. In any case, he gets to make casts full-time (I assume) and we get more casts in exchange for clicking a few times. Everybody wins. And they did make videos before SC2, they just had to delete them because of copyright issues.

I don't mind Husky making money it's good to see people in the industry doing well. However the splitting replays thing is pretty shady.

Lazy, I know, but still...it's unnecessary to split a game up (when you have no time restrictions) for any reason other than making more views.

I guess you were probably trying to communicate that you like Husky but you wish he would stop doing the split replay thing and whatnot, but in that case, you shouldn't have opened up with "I FUCKING HATE HUSKY AND I WISH HE WOULD DIE." Also, as for the making money thing, you all still don't have to pay anything to watch his commentaries, so quit bitching. Husky puts a lot of time into this and there's someone willing to pay him for it. He exploits a loophole in their system to make more money. Whatever. Who gives a fuck? Your man enough to rant and piss people off on camera, instead of only showing your calm self on camera and i respect that. Lol, getting pissed about video game commentaries is hardly anything that qualifies you as being "man enough" about anything. It's just whiny.

If he really can get all the videos into one, but just splits it up to get more views/money, that is incredibly shady.

Husky does good to bring in the casual viewers, but he really lacks in analyzing games. He just tells us what we see and tries to add humor. Be great if he could incorporate high level thinking into his casting, telling us what to expect before it happens, what needs to be done to get back in the game etc. Though I imagine casting on that kind of level to be extremely hard when your not a high level player to begin with.
