I want to upgrade, but i'm not building my own, just want something quick. this is what i found on craigslist:

I would say yes, it seems like a pretty sick computer, especially for 550. I would expect a computer like that to cost 1k~. I'm just not sure how the gts250 performs in SLI, that would be my only concern (It should be pretty good though)

pretty good. the Q6600 is a bit dated, but it can still work. Especially with the added keyboard and mouse. I would go for it.

This is too good to be true.
If the comp was heavily used, maybe. But the graphics, OS, etc. are too new to be that cheap.
Why would they offer Razer mouse + keyboard along with it?

This rings alot of alarm bells man... with all that stuff he should be selling it for 1000 and still I'd say you would consider buying it (depending on the condition). If he knows that much about computers to build that thing, there's no way he would sell it that cheap.

With the monitor, yes. Ask him to open up the case and make sure everything is there though lol.

800 wouldn't be a good deal at all. 650-700 is probably average for this rig (in can dollars)

That deal seems crazy good, I would definitely buy if it was legit. Check up on it for sure.

He could not sell that computer for $1000. At max it is worth around $900 by today's standards. $800 if you don't count the OS. Of course, you're going to have to go there to check up on it. Then again, it's used, so I would stay away unless he let you run Prime95 + other stuff to test out all the components.

Yea, the used bit scares me away. But if it were all new, the Deathadder/Lycosa and the 23.4 inch moniter is are like $300 on their own. If you can prime 95 the components and they check out, you should definitely try to pick it up.

I'd look into whether or not Starcraft 2 will support SLI. I was under the impression that it doesn't and won't (my CrossFire 2nd card is sitting idle when I play), but I've heard some people say they have it working, and admittedly I haven't spent too much time researching it because my FPS is fine. Anyways, it's something to look into.
EDIT: As for the hardware in general, it looks like a pretty nice deal. I'd go for it if you don't want to build your own and save even more.

Holy shit yeah thats a good deal. Even one of those gpu's are enough to run SC2 let alone both of them SLI'd. That's a really good deal for an already built and working computer and monitor for $550, you would have to spend almost double that just to build the same thing.

I've seen core 2s with 7 or 8 series geforce cards, less ram, generic mice/keyboard and no monitor selling for 600+.
