Only way to avoid the friendzone is to seal the deal, close the sale, 5pool before it is too late. Ask her out NOW, something along the lines of "i really like you and would like to reserve you first on october!" Proceed to court her regularly, but under the pretense that it is unofficial, then make it official on her birthday. Hold off on the kissing until that day, but do everything else a good boyfriend would do.
