Christmas time is a time to give to others, be it family, friends or your community. Christmas is also a time when most people are on holiday and life is good, even if it is for only 1-2 weeks. Here at TeamLiquid, we noticed this and decided that we were going to give big to our community over the break and try make the festive season something really special this year. Between Christmas and New Years we will be doing a number of things over here at TL; trying to bring out the fun side of competitive gaming. It is also a time to remember the years gone by, what with New Years coming up and all, so we tried to throw some of that in the mix as well. There's bound to be something you're interested in - so be sure to tune in or sign up!

It's been a while since we've had a TL hosted tournament, and what better way to celebrate togetherness than with a 2v2 Tournament! To further enhance the "togetherness" theme, we've commissioned a special Shared Mains 2v2 map for use in this tournament. The tournament will be played on the 26th, possibly the 27th pending numbers, and will have a $50 prize for the winning team. The finals will also be streamed on the 27th, just prior to the next TL event. The signups for this tournament, including the full details about this tournament, will be opened sometime later this weekend.

The latest polls indicate that the vast majority of TL members joined in 2007 and 2008. This comes as no surprise given the advent of SC2. Sadly, as a result, you poor souls have missed out on some of the best years of Brood War gaming ever. To make things slightly better, we've collected up a number of what we think are the best old school VODs and will be streaming them so we can all watch them together! There's bound to be at least one game you've missed; even if it's the extremely hard to find Nazgul vs XellOs VOD on Plains to Hill D! This will be a night of BW history you will not want to miss! Liquibition takes a one week break over Christmas before we get back into the season with another challenger. However, this Christmas, we've decided to put on a Liquibition Christmas Special featuring none other than Liquid`Drone and Twisted on maps from 2001-4. The exact map list and details will be announced closer to the time. Rumor has it though, that one of the maps will indeed be Nostalgia. There is much to be excited about in this Liquibition as we will be playing all 7 games. The winner of this Liquibition is not the person who wins the most games, but the person who pulls the sickest moves off - anything can happen!

TL: Attack! makes a glorious return for an obligatory Christmas special. And what better way to do that than have Chill as the guest for the show. That's right, you can queue up and get inline to teach Chill a lesson in Brood War. Did Chill say your strategy sucks and proceeded to close your thread? Well this is the chance to prove him wrong by raping him while others watch on live! This is set to be one of the hilarious highlights of the year, so don't miss it! What better way to end the year by proving that your race is the most dominant? TL: Racewars! makes its second appearance this year and will undoubtedly prove to be one of the highlights of the year. In case you've forgotten, Mani hosted an awesome Racewars tournament and this tournament will be run almost identically to that. The signups for Racewars will take place next weekend, so get thinking about your strats now!
Excited yet? You should be, because the epic Christmas week marathon of TL events starts in about a week. Be sure to get involved and participate in the festivities and without doubt this will be the best Christmas in years.
