I think everyone can agree that last week’s games, aside from Up vs. Stork, were a massive disappointment. And they had so much potential! I’m hoping the opposite is true this week. The games, to be polite, don’t have much in the way of potential, but with players of this caliber, you just have to watch.

OSL Ro16 Week 3
June 1
18:30 Korean

Group A

iloveoov (T) vs. Light[Alive] (T)

@ Fantasy

This is a huge game for Light and oov. Both players are down 0-1, and this single game dictates whether or not a player will be in control of his own destiny in the coming weeks. A loss means probable elimination, and a win means the potential for advancement. Light has been working hard on his TvT—and it shows—but Flash demolished him a couple weeks ago. Oov is the clear favorite here, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see Light pull out the win, either.

Group B

Nada (T) vs. Hwasin (T)

@ Monty Hall

I cringe every time I think about this match. The map, the matchup, the players—it’s all just so bad. I’m not sure there’s ever been a game that I’ve wanted to watch less, but it’s like seeing a car accident in slow motion: I can’t look away. Oddly enough, Hwasin is the runaway favorite to take this game. He’s 15-3 since April, and Nada has looked anything but sharp as of late. He was booted from the MSL after two terrible games, he’s 0-1 in the OSL, and his Proleague record has been an even split of wins and losses. But as I frequently say regarding Savior, this is Nada we’re talking about here. Counting him out of any game against any opponent is ill-advised.

Group C

REACH (P) vs. Justin (T)

@ Python

Reach is going to crush Justin. There’s no getting around it. Reach has looked amazing in his limited number of PvTs as of late, and Justin has never looked anything but mediocre. I can’t wait to see the Liquibet numbers for this match; I’m guessing Justin got no more than 17 votes.

Group D

Casy (T) vs. GGPlay (Z)

@ Hitchhiker

A quick glance over his recent record shows that Casy is 2-4 in the Proleague and 0-1 in the OSL since April. Then there’s GGPlay, who’s shown flashes of both brilliance and incompetence in the past couple months, winning a few games in stellar fashion and getting caught with his pants down once or twice. Trying to predict the outcome of this game is like trying to learn craps; it’s complicated and probably not worth the effort. Casy is erratic, but TvZ is his best matchup. GGPlay has looked pretty good lately, but he’s looked pretty bad, too. Zerg players seem to like ZvT on Hitchhiker, but the results haven’t backed up their confidence. Casy looks vaguely similar to a baboon, but GGPlay is really unattractive as a woman. THERE ARE TOO MANY VARIABLES.

By the way, check out that sweet trophy I'm holding. The next round of Proleague games should bump me down a few slots in Liquibet, but until then, I'm gloating.

oov's TvT is amazing, best TvT player in the world in my opinion he cannot lose this
nada's TvT should also be solid enough to own such a newcomer
