Rooting for Hero, but i think maru is literally the worst match up on earth for him right now. I think he'd do better against Serral honestly.

I have absolutely no choice but to cheer as hard as possible for herO in this. For the honor of Protoss; for the honor of returning military players; and also because he's one of the best and most entertaining players in a long time, and has played a big role in making Protoss more successful and PvZ a ridiculously fun matchup to watch again.
However, I do have to acknowledge that he is emphatically the underdog here.
Still, I also have a soft spot for underdogs, so that's really another reason to cheer for herO.

Maru has an OSL in 2013 S1 over Innovation and Rain. It was populated by 2012 S5 players and populated into 2013 S2, IIRC. I'm fairly certain it was a GSL but in name only? It had a different Korean cast and tastosis used chobra because be worked for OSL?

On one hand: As P&W wrote, I would like to see the G5L awarded in my lifetime.
On the other: herO returning from military and winning GSL is a bigger feel good storyline.
Can't wait for the match.

Honestly, I said this when Maru won his 4th GSL too, but he's past the point where the number getting bigger means anything to me. He's already achieved maximum impressiveness for me.

i've always considered maru as 5x starleague winner in that sense for this reason as well but as far as Code S champions i understand why people consider him 4x

He's also won an SSL so he's a 6 time starleague champ. 4 time GSL.

yeah but unlike the OSL that was sort of a second tier starleague that was going on at the same time as a Code S with a smaller prize pool and no real pedigree before or after that. Still obviously a great trophy for his cabinet but I don't personally count that on the same tier as the other ones.. but at this point its splitting hairs a bit
