Every picture I see of Curious, he looks like some hard-knuckled thug. Seriously, I cannot imagine him anything other than Boss mode. Him and Bomber standing side by side in Boss mode would make for an awesome photo

Slayers do need to prepare themselves though, FXO has over the past few months become a persistent "obstacle" in Slayers' path to SC2 world domination.

I assumed that 1) all GSL points would reset at the beginning of 2012 and 2) who gets picking rights would be decided by what happened the previous tournament. It's kind of difficult though, because the group selection is in the ro16, and the previous season's top 8 are seeded into the ro32 only. So you end up with the situation that there's no guarantee the top 4 from the previous season will even be in the ro16. Even so, if they stick with this system and don't reset the points then MVP, MMA and Nestea are going to be picking first for as long as they can stay in Code S for, at least until the end of this year.

As far as I know (and remember), GSL stated that they'd use last year's points for this season since they have no basis yet (so might as well take the total of last year, instead of just the latest season? Not sure about how logical that is though), then reset and use this season's points for next season.

Just pick names out of a hat if you don't have any other fair way of picking groups. I find picking by points to be pretty unfair ![]()

Of course performance should be rewarded. Like Mvp and Oz complained, they should have just given the seeds to the top 4 or 8 from last season and do that for every season, instead of relying on a running tally of GSL points.

Except last seasons top 8 frequently don't make the ro16. How would you decide who gets Leenock's picks since he is already out? Points is the fairest possible way IMO.

I think the players (MVP, Oz) voiced out their opinions because this change was made AFTER Nov GSL which the top 8 though they would get to pick the next season. So they kinda felt this was taken away (same thing with Blizz Cup invitations, was suppose to be Top 10 GSL points). I think if this change was made before the Nov GSL, then it would have been better. But I understand the GOM might not have decided on the format until later.

Points is the fairest possible way IMO. I understand that flukes can make it to the Ro8 or even Ro4, but the problem with using only points is that players can rely on really old results to keep getting seeded despite not really earning it (aside from making it to the seeded groups). Even though everyone loves MC, his recent exploits in the GSL don't deserve for him to get seeded, but he's still 3rd in GSL points because of early wins in 2011. The rest of the top 10 include Polt, MKP, TOP, NaDa, and July. Do those players really deserve the seed more than jjakji or Oz? Arguable for some, not really for most. It's really difficult to find a system that rewards consistency and recent results, I agree, and points should definitely matter.. but I can understand how some of the younger, newer players are upset with it.
