It's impossible to please everyone with the earth being round and all. There's a number of factors for choosing the time as we did but the main ones are that the previous Scavenger Hunts (as well as future Hotbid/Kennigit based hunts/giveaways) were at excellent US times (3 AM for Europeans) and the majority of the LP staff doing this "event" is European. I'm working on getting something done for the Aus/Nz/Singapore/China/Korea side of the world, but the time for this one will remain as is.
