The can is opened and only HerO and perhaps Pigbaby (because Pigbaby) are allowed to advance from todays matches since the other combatants are not championship winning material.

Obviously not Rotterdam's decision, but some really questionable decision making by whoever made that one. Good on them for not making Minigun forfeit, but dumb to mess up the broadcast by not moving other things around. SC2 isn't an "on-call" job. You're given a schedule and you plan your day around that.
I highly doubt Scarlett has some pressing conflict at 7:50 AM. You're given a schedule, but sometimes schedules change and people have to adapt. Europeans may have stayed up to watch potentially if there were games going on, but I suspect a large number of them will call it quits. Not as pressing, but even for North Americans having a big hour-long gap in the middle of the broadcast is going to cause lots of people to tune out.
At least, I got the impression from what Rotterdam said that the problem was that they didn't want to make Scarlett play too early. Maybe Hendralisk was out or something in which case he would've had to have time to get home and that's a different matter.
e: apparently it's been moved up though and won't be a full hour after the previous games, so my complaint is less relevant now.
