Didnt see that coming considering he didnt look very strong in his ZvT (!) against marineking. Ryung picking curious instead of sniper is strange

Ryung picking curious instead of sniper is strange it was mostly an act of kindness as Curious was kinda begging Ryung to pick him as all other groups had StarTale players and he didn't want to teamkill also Ryung said that he'll need to beat the stronger players eventually anyway if he wants to get far so he might as well get it over with

Ro8 means automatic qualification, while exit in Ro16 means potentially Up and Down. JYP and Heart found that out last year.

The Terrans (except Ryung) probably can't believe their luck with the groups. Also as much as I love John as a personality, I really missed having Snowbird translating today. Season 4's group selection was the most enjoyable one I've watched due to the increased information. I hope Gom looks into a professional translator in the future.

Not to mention that there's always the chance the "stronger" player may get upset so you don't even run into them. The mentality of "might as well get it over with" is not really playing to win. Maybe worthy of praise for having the spirit of a warrior but in the end, a gun is better than a sword.

I am not sure you can really believe the reasoning they give in group selection. Maybe they see a weakness or just more comfortable playing a certain style. Ro8 also means more money and exposure.

On a serious note GSL is getting better and better, no sarcasm. Wow, this will be TvT fest in group B and Group Z. A group with 4 zergs will be a TvT fest? Does group B have 4 zergs? Or 'group zerg' needs further explanation? "Wow, this will be TvT fest in group B and Group Z."
