I think it's also important to keep in mind also that Curious and Life are on the same team, both of whom are pretty damn insane in ZvZ (both sitting above 72% with recent upswings in form), and if there is one person you want to have access to when practicing for a ZvZ in particular, it's either going to be Curious or Life.

His play has looked uninspired and outclassed lately, but it's hard to tell whether it's because he is getting outclassed or (without even looking at his opponent) because he's playing a lot sloppier than usual or both. Yes but this trend has being slowly building up over the course of a year. The poor army control, stubborn adherence in mutalisks in ZvT, and overcommitment to attacks were all noticeable even before IPL4. It was only a matter of time until they would turn into painful losses on a consistent basis. Life played a lot more like Curious in his series versus Nestea with his early aggression. I think they are rubbing off on each other in terms of strategy (Curious has been doing a lot of wacky builds in ZvT and ZvP lately).

Life is one of the best ZvZ players, if not the absolute best, on the planet and Supernova is superb in TvZ. Wait until he starts losing to mediocre players before bewailing his fall. It's not about nestea is losing to good players because that happens to everyone. It's how he is losing. He's been looking terrible in his OSL games, his IEM games, etc. He has been making numerous mistakes in his games and is just plain looking bad in a lot of them. I hope he recovers because I'm a huge nestea fan, but right now his play is a shadow of his former self when he would have his abacus in hand and predict your moves 10 steps ahead before you even thought to do those moves and counter them.

Because he has been playing BAD. Fantasy obliterated him and he doesn't even do well at foreign tournaments, losing to Kas... really? Miya toyed with Kas because he was so much better, but Nestea simply isn't good. There are no more Inca's or Losira's in Code S. Goodbye Nestea.

Man, thinking of past finalists who aren't currently in the GSL ... Losira and TOP both strike me as those who can still do well today if they put their mind to it. TOP was a mechanics macro machine, but he just had no micro to back it up, and his decision-making could be a little off, but that's basically Bomber, and we all see how Bomber stomps everyone in Code A. (Your micro doesn't even have to be top-notch. Bomber's micro isn't that great. It's just that he knows how much micro is necessary to skate by in engagements, so he micros minimally and goes back to macroing. For example, I think we've all seen Bomber break off in the middle of splitting his marines before in TvZ.)

Nestea is the one who originated a lot of zerg strategies from scratch. I'm sure he will have a resurgence once HOTS is out and the metagame resets. This is obviously true to some extent, but I think a lot of the old strats will still be sort of viable for some time and there are so many players who are just have way better mechanics than him. I think we will see creative stuff from him and he will be able to beat "better" players with that, but I really don't see him winning a GSL again.
