If they want to make it less ridiculous, they shouldn't make it a bo7, it should just be a deciding match, if the first loser wins the second series. All I can do is explain the logic behind it. It's up to the tournament hosts to decide whether or not they think the time inbetween matches is enough to have changed the players enough that a new set should be started. The extended series rule looks at the players as they fight over the tournament as a whole and does not consider the "seeding" portion of the tournament as a separate tournament- rather it is one in the same with the prize tournament, and helps determine seeding for that second half instead of using random seeding.
Yeah... well... it was a good explanation haha. Didn't mean to bash. I just dislike that rule.

I feel bad for MLG. They shouldn't be blamed for the lag problem. They are trying really hard and I bet renting those two satellite trucks are not cheap at all.

Satellite trucks don't solve connection issues for the players... they aren't going to want to play with 10s latency.
