Observe. Idra-MC 2-0. [Bo3] Idra has won twice. If they meet again later and have another Bo3: Idra-MC 2-0. [Bo3] Idra-MC 4-0 total Idra has won four times. Nothing wrong there. But what if MC wins the second time? Idra-MC 0-2. [Bo3] Idra-MC 2-2 total Idra has won twice and MC has won twice. Wait, they're even. Why is MC advancing? See the logic? Ok, now do it with the extended series rule. Idra-MC 2-0. [Bo3] Idra has won twice. Idra-MC 2-0. [Bo7 Idra 2-0+] Idra-MC 4-0 total Idra has won four times. Ok. And again, what happens if MC starts winning in the best of 7? Idra-MC 2-0. [Bo7 Idra 2-0+] Idra-MC 2-4 total Idra has won two times. MC has won 4 times. MC won more, so he deserves to advance.

No excuses, but it was just less than one would expect from him. Late with ffs, didn't finish off the hatch in 2nd game, moved the immos to stupid place. Taking 4 games without loosing 2... is however doubtful with idra playing this well. MC hasn't been "himself" for the last several weeks. He's in a slump. Some of his strongest timings have sortof been figured out in terms of the current meta game, and like many other players (MVP for instance) he's struggling a bit as he adapts. He's still a great player, and Idra played perfectly, this wasn't a game that MC lost, Idra was phenomenal.

As an added benefit if the loser of the first match wins a game, that game carries over into the second set i.e. Idra > MC: 2-1 Now they play again using extended series, except they carry their scores over, so MC carries his win over i.e. Bo7, Idra v MC rematch, score is currently 2-1

Who cares if ManU goes 4-0 first match of the season to Chelsea. If they lose 1-0 second match it's still a loss. If they want to make it less ridiculous, they shouldn't make it a bo7, it should just be a deciding match, if the first loser wins the second series.
