Apparently the 2 redundant satellites they used for this event are Sputnik and Skylab. Hopefully they can cattle prod the hamsters into sending more stream soon.

That is plainly a false comparison. Ordinary customers don't ever put through any significant amount of traffic comparable to such events. Sattelite is state of the art media distribution already. The only difference is that no matter how much you want it, MLG can't easily afford a plethora of backup devices. You know, these trucks cost a shitload of money to employ.

MLG: There's a massive thunderstorm and hail directly over the venue- we're working on fixing the issues this is causing with the satellite feed.

They do have a backup plan. They have hard lines as well, they just need to switch it over.

We are about to switch over to the backup feeds- this shouldn't take long. In the meantime, our players will finish the two games currently in progress but will NOT start new games. You will only miss seeing one game of each series.

I don't blame MLG at all. This bad weather all over the country is absolutely ridiculous. I live in California and it's been very cold over last couple of weeks. And today it's raining quite hard in early June....WTF is wrong with this world right now? Shouldn't be happening...

Anyways, I'm trying to get the G1 result of the thor mc game from my friend @ Columbus...hasn't responded yet.
Hopefully they'll get this back up as soon as possible. I just don't want people to keep bitching at MLG for stuff they can't really control. It's so annoying listening to people QQ about every single thing that goes wrong...especially when people make fun of commentators. So funny how people think they can do better, or at least act like they can do better...but one question lingers...why aren't you there, then?
