For example, there should be an attendance/appearance fee paid to players for just participating, and an actual financial penalty when missing a game. Let's say players pay a reimbursable deposit of $200. They get paid $25 for every game they play, and lose $25 for every game they miss. So at the end of the day, they can make about $200 for participating in every game, but if they miss a game, they lose $25 of their sponsor's money, and the $25 they could of earned just by showing up. they already have to pay $200
Though in Painuser's case maybe he doesn't care since his team probably fronted the deposit and his team closed down.

In professional sports, if a player decides that he wants to leave the sport, he can in the middle of a season. He just has to uphold whatever fines they might impose for early termination of a contract, which can be quite hefty. NASL imposes a $250 deposit fine for this kind of behavior, which is nothing, but at this point in SC 2 the winnings and salaries are rather low, as well, so maybe it's what they have to do in order to accommodate what is still a mostly amateur scene.

Keep in mind that his team disbanded... ;{

Really impressed by Mr. Bitter's casting. He really has something of a news anchor in his appearance and voice

Yeah, I know. I was just thinking maybe an additional reward system would improve the situation. I mean, a guy like nada who wakes up at 4:00 am should get a little extra, while a guy like painuser should get a harsher punishment.
I don't know. It's just a shame that the NASL and the fans are losing out due to a lack of accountability from the players.

Not seeing Mana destroying Painuser doesn't count as losing out though.

impressed with Boxer...
want idra to win...the baddest zerg of all
i've never seen how sen play, but i just like how idra creates and sticks to his principles
|
still haven't bought the season ticket... is it worth it?
lol @ painuser wth XD
|
In retrospect, it's kind of unfair to assume Painuser won't play out his two remaining games.
I'd get out of bed for a chance to play Boxer, even though he would demolish me.
|
eff it i bought it...just want to watch the boxer and artosis series XD
|
I bought the season ticked to watch Grubby and Artosis and maybe from semis to finals. Too bad Grubby and Artosis keep loosing... I also hope the quality of the show will be better after the group stage.

Honestly, if you looked at the top 16 right now, the line-up is pretty sick.

Those two were never going to fare well in this tournament, and yes the quality of games will most likely go up after the group stage.

I really liked it too and either I am getting more used to Gretorp or he is getting much less annoying. I haven't heard problematic or him just talking over the other caster quite as much.
The games were somewhat expected results, quite frankly I would have been sad if anyone but the three good Zerg and Boxer advanced, seems like the hardest pool.

the stream gets pretty bad after 20k people watching but no I'd wait until the second season like me that'll be worth it just like GSL

Bitter has a sort of drawl that makes his casting really fun to listen to. You have to listen close to hear it though.
|
Mr. Bitter is the best caster I've heard for SC2. Gretorp gets stuck on words, last night he was calling everything "juicy" and often at inappropriate times. He needs to choose his words better, as he is often emphasizing things with completely inappropriate words.
Incontrol is okay, but doesn't seem to know much about Terran and Zerg, and everytime he watches a Protoss do well, he talks about how he is going to steal the build, and everything he is learning.
|
As many of the people before me I found MrBitters guest-casting to be surprisingly enjoyable.
Gretorp is really getting the hang of casting at this level, seeing him fill the shoes of main caster in stead ofI the 'sidekick' is a welcome refreshment. As with MrBitter's performance he too suprised me in a good way. His ability to fill the more boring parts of the game with SC2 related trivia and random banter is a great plus! Because if we are honnest, unless the players go for some wierd cheese the first couple of minutes in the games are rather dull,
I look forward to more of the same, although I hope the technical issues get adressed in further iterations of the tournament. Those are the main reason keeping me from purchasing a season ticket tbh. I don't mind these glitches as I am getting the content and fruit of these people hard work for free, but I would like to see things stabilize before I consider paying for it. Who knows, maybe next season?
Keep up the good work people!
