First, to the NASL: For a first day launch I think you guys did a really good job. The Good: -The low-quality stream largely ran just fine for me with only 2-3 little lag hiccups in the 2 hours I watched of it. Not bad at all for a first day supporting the number of viewers you had. Keep it up! -The casting was overall pretty good. -The games were pretty awesome, particularly in the Grubby vs. Moon matchup. You have collected a pretty epic list of players for this League and I'm excited to watch as many of the other games as I can. -I don't have any problems paying $25 for the premium package. Keep it this way. Room for improvement: -Transitions and audio were a bit off, and the audio a bit loud at times. I'm sure you're already aware and will work to resolve those issues. -The "View Chat" button on the webpage wouldn't work for me last night. Would click and nothing would happen, even having pop/ad-blockers turned off. Maybe this was just me though as no one else seems to have mentioned it so far. -Eventually, I would prefer a short 2-3 minute commercial break between games that didn't overlap the commentary. This might just take time though until the proper amount of sponsorship comes in, but it's during those important times the next game gets hyped up! -From the sounds of other responses so far, it would be nice to eventually have VOD's available at less than 1080p. I have 15mbs internet that could handle it fine, but I know that's not the case for many others around the world. Response to other posts: There are quite a number of people complaining that NASL thus far isn't close enough in likeness to TSL, MLG, GOMTV, etc. Simply put, it's not TSL, MLG, or GOMTV. Furthermore, yesterday was day 1 of a totally new project. They haven't had years of experience and learning from brood war days (think GSL and Korean broadcasting) to hammer out all the smallest details and make everything perfect yet. Don't write off the NASL simply because it didn't have a sublime opening day. I'm sure they'll get their flame sputtering devices on a stage in due time... More and more these days it seems like many people have some expectation of getting the best of everything for free when in reality, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and it frustrates me to no end. From working in finance every day, I can tell you there is a lot more expense involved in a project of this scope than you might first think. So if there aren't enough advertisers yet to pony up the dough for you, don't complain because you're NOT entitled to the content anyway. And come on kids, it's $8.33 a month we're talking about. For me that's a pack and half of cigarettes, 1/6 a tank of gas, 1 lunch eating out at work, or less than the texting plan on my cell phone a month. Even in high school I could have afforded that easily from my $6/hour job. So either pay up the chump change until the league gets enough recognition, or don't complain. 'Nough said. NASL, keep up the good work, I believe in your business venture and wish you the best of luck. I wish I could have gotten involved in the project from the ground up and can't wait to see what else you produce!

But the streams are usually solid, especially with as few viewers as this. There's obviously something that's gone wrong with the recording they are rebroadcasting. No. Justin.tv Streams are usually laggy in Europe. Couldn't watch dreahack fine, i could not even watch Take Tv and some other german streams anymore. But it seems it depends on the time, mostly it lags at afternoon, then stops at night. But honestly i don't blame NASL. Stream gets better and better also. But i blame them to start too early. Whhhyyyyy?

There's 2k viewers and full HD is not even available to all of them, there's obviously something else going on rather than just some sort of NA -> EU Justin.tv stream lag. Especially since Europeans in this thread are reporting the same thing as the NA viewers that saw the stream when it was actually live.

In the studio it's a fixed camera angle with very little movement on screen, so it's very low bandwidth to broadcast that. In the game by contrast the entire scene can change in a single frame, which is high bandwidth.

anyways, Game 3 between Grubby and Moon is good. not the most high level play but still a very entertaining game.
