Zerglings are probably better than workers at fighting - I was exaggerating but I would not favor 6 lings against 12 scvs or 12 drones, I would not be surprised in such fights if 1 or less workers were killed. I would be very surprised if 6 lings managed to do enough damage to win a game for the rusher. lings are quite weaker then in sc1 and workers are stronger(esp drones) plus they dont have super fail AI anymore. cant compare that
AI is probably quite a big deal. I know Stork has had some amazing probe micro that makes his probes weirdly deadly against lings. One game in particular, I remember, http://www.gomtv.net/classics2/vod/464

Let me remind something: Lyn played orc in wc3. Wc3 orc players can never have my respect because it's the stupidest race in any RTS. And SC2's stupidest race seems to be Terran.
