I could have done lots of things. I had hoped to confirm 2 townies through a role swap, or at least confirm one townie and 1 scum (meaning I would die), all without wasting a lynch cycle for the town.

VA is mafia because there is no reason to lie about the switching mechanic if he is town. His play so far can only be explained from a non-town standpoint, and should be a slamdunk lynch.

1) You clearly aren't even trying to understand how the potato works. Onegu confirmed my description was accurate. It also doesn't matter what my read on Onegu at the time was. I know my role 100%, getting the KP off me and onto someone who has a chance of being mafia is always the right play. (Side note, this is true if I am mafia as well, which is why I told you it is truly NAI. The only conclusion you can make based off me handing the potato to Onegu is that it is very unlikely that we are a scumteam.)

Ok, here we go. Why Koshi isn't scum.

In a heavily themed game where there are likely investigative and kp town roles Koshi has put himself repeatedly in the crosshairs from the start of the game. Claiming you are town that wants to be mafia/open to being converted automatically puts you on peoples radar. Suggesting that he should be lynched, that a lynch would help him, and that he wouldn't mind hanging on to the potato for a while. Almost all of his play this game puts him in the spotlight when there was no need to. It seems to me that for Koshi to be mafia he would need to have committed to a pretty big lie right from the start instead of building up lies around half truths like everyone else does. He also has to be comfortable with having a target on his back.
Side possiblity: He is some sort of delayed bomber role that needs to wait to blow people up to win.

I think I'm leaning Vivax. He would be completely in the clear due to numbers if someone had died last night. But it doesn't seem too far fetched to me that he could choose to not kill someone at night and instead pull a buddy into the game.
