edit: Wow, prosecution barely gained anything on direct, and they are getting thrashed on cross. Theories of throwing the case on purpose are gaining strength with this witness lol. | ||

It seems like it from this thread. the witness stated the samples were 'wet' and packaged in a material that is less than ideal for DNA testing. The samples should have been 'DRY' (air dried before sent to lab) and packaged in a different material. Wet samples can cause inaccurate results or lead to DNA degradation. also the witness wasn't sure how the fingernail scrapping were done, if they only did 1 finger nail on each hand or all 5 finger nails, basically making the data (or lack thereof) worthless. | ||

Bio evidence should be "air-dried", and packaged in brown bags, so it is able to breathe and dry out. The sweatshirts were placed in a plastic bag instead, thus preventing them from drying out, leading to DNA evidence being destroyed because the government fucked up. edit: They can't very well argue a lack of DNA evidence found and use it against Zimmerman. | ||
