Been lurking around this thread for soon a year just reading here and snapping up some anime here and there that you lot seem to think its good (it has a ~70% success rate so far!) and just in general been laughing at your amazing goofiness. You lot are definitively the sickest clique/group on TL! (Apart from Emnjay, screw that guy... :| ) So, to business. After recently being introduced to the amazing (but ridiculously time consuming) world of Visual Novels I recently ended up going through the Clannad one after recommendations from a friend. I thought it was really really good apart from like... 3? routes which were "meh". I never bothered to check out the Anime though, and I wonder if it's better/worse than the VN and overall worth a watch. If so, are there any striking differences between the two (I assume there are, but please try not to spoil too much if so!) I have bad experience with playing games/reading books and then having the series/movies just ruin the whole experience I had from them and I'd preferably avoid it happening again so any help would be really sick. Apparently the VN is super incredibly long, and I can imagine it just dragging on in places. As for the anime, I thought that Clannad season 1 was kinda zzz myself, but alot of people swear by After Story. But like I said, dunno how it compares to the VN. | ||

A big difference is that the events in After Story aren't properly explained like they were in the VN, though since the strange magical elements in these stories don't make that much sense anyway, I guess you could look past it. | ||

Only thing I can remember is recommending some troll animes like Yosuga no Sora and Softenni. If that was the case, then you shouldnt judge me based on that. >_> | ||

I wasn't much of a fan of Clannad season 1, and never bothered with After Story. Alot of other people seem a bit more positive towards season 1, and then say After Story is the greatest anime ever made. If you like that sort of stuff, I guess you can check it out. | ||
