I feel like techies is a relic of a bygone era. Dota is serious business these days, yo.

He's probably going to ruin/"improve" pubs for a few weeks after release and then remain annoying pretty much forever. I think the nostalgia factor will wear off pretty quick.

I understand that he's not a joke hero in the right hands, but he's not going to be in the right hands 90% of the time.

If anything you should pick furion/lycan and immediately sent out treants/wolves to destroy techies mines

Why does everyone have such strong opinions about Techies? It's just another hero, and it might even be legit with all the buff it received in the past patches. Halved respawn time after a suicide sounds pretty cool. Remote Mines (especially w/ aghanims) seem really strong too. Good range, good damage, etc.

If you don't understand why, you didn't play Dota 1. Even though some people didn't really care, it's still pretty easy to see why others did.
